Relax kodaks, The league sets the rules and umping is very, very easy to do. As in informal. All you really need to know is whether it's fair / foul and safe / out. Least ways that's been my experience. :) Where to stand? Outta the way. You'll do fine.

There actually are certain places to stand on the field and certain gestures. Here's a place with some pointers - [umpire.org...] (just noticed my post count - I'll have to make sure I find a special non-Fooey place for #666)

You may also want to make sure you can recognize any gestures coming from the stands.
