God, they better win, I know this is the year! I'm hoping they do better at Fenway!

I moved out of my Fenway apartment last year because I was convinced they would win and I didn't want my car toppled.

I also bought a house but I like that explaination better. Now, Curt is out - ugh. this can't get worse. :(

ritual-

Yes it can... there might be only 2 games left. Nothing is worse than the S word in the playoffs.

I moved here about 7 months ago, and purposely stayed away from the Fenway/Kenmore area for fear if they actually do win it, that whole side of the city will get torched.

First, I confess my total ignorance about this 'sport'.

Can anyone explain to me where is the enjoyment of watching millionaires dressed in pajamas spitting all over the place, on TV? ;)

mattglet

The same enjoyment as watching millionaires running around in short shorts grabbing each other's "meat and potatoes".

Yes, I'm talking about soccer.

I think I've seen you reference soccer as a sport you like Mac, if not, this reply is for anyone else who likes soccer and not baseball :)

Nope, I am no sucker for soccer neither.

I really enjoy not watching millionaires on skates this year. They where locked out for some reason.

Funny to hear all in a sudden, all those local hockey fans talking about the weather all day. :)

What do you have against millionaires?

Back on topic - Curse of the Bambino still going strong!

Good question.

Maybe I got bored watching one shaving in the mirror every morning. ;)

mfishy- The Curse is not being Reversed this year.

You should see the somber attitude of the city as a whole. It's like everyone is in denial of what's happening. I just heard this morning that Schilling is out for Game 5...

Anyone want to put their money on Lowe? *evil chuckle*

I'll be there tonight. I have faith in Arroyo, and like our chances with Lowe in game 5...Sox Nation nevers gives up!

I think he hit the bulls eye. It was a perfect (and well deserved) low blow.

Sad we lost Youpi [travelin-tigers.com]! He was the best member of the team.

Sniffles

roscoe-
You need to share the love with the tickets! :)

MacG-
It was sad overall that you lost Les Expos. It's too bad the Quebecois aren't big baseball fans, you really had some awesome teams in the early '90s. What (in your opinion) led to the demise of the franchise? Overall disinterest? Bad management? Who knows, who cares? :)

Youpi was the only one in the team that new about poutine, visited sick childrens in hospitals and had intelligent sport conversations (since mascots dont talk).

Youpi was the best!

A lot of the time we mute the sound. What does that tell you?

Now you know why they wear pajamas. It's because after they play for so long they go right to bed. Wonder if they keep their red sox on?

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Yankees fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Yankees fans.

Everyone in the class raises their hand expect one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says, "Janie, why didn't you raise your hand?"

"Because I'm not a Yankees fan," she replied.

The teacher, still shocked, asked, "Well, if you are not a Yankees fan, then who are you a fan of?"

"I am a Red Sox fan, and proud of it," Janie replied.

The teacher could not believe her ears. "Janie, why are you a Red Sox fan?"

"Because my mom is a Red Sox fan, and my dad is Red Sox fan, so I'm a Red Sox fan too!"

"Well," said the teacher in a obviously annoyed tone, "That is no reason for you to be a Red Sox fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mom were a moron and your dad were a moron,
what would you be then?"

"Then," Janie smiled, "I'd be a Yankees fan."
