After seeing this thread growing and growing i'd like to just drop a quick idea fwiw: imagine running a death mach competiton over the net for WebmasterWorld members - could be a new entertaining event - something happening once a year or so? Sure, only supporters allowed to join, he, he, he. ;) I'd offer to host the server for such a event - fat bandwith guaranteed. If memory serves me right, googleguy is a doom / quake player, no!? Imagine ... >:]
Sign me up for that Yidaki :)
Now that would be a good reason to join the supporter crowd! ;)

Fighters by join date:

3) sinner_g (or?)
C'mon, guys and gals ...!
mods, feel free to stop me
Google Rank II :)
That was a great game. Street fighter and Tony hawk were great also. Warcraft and Diablo were also favs on the computer.
I was also addicted to Bass Fishing on the dreamcast. I got it as a joke gift from a friend then got totally absorbed in it.
My favorite old classic was river raid. I would play that forever.

Or we could build a MUD where the goal would be not to gain power but SERPs (hmm, or is that the same?). I'm sure we have people here who would know how to set that up.
> river raid
The Atari 2600. Heh, now we're jogging the old memory.
Favorites would be Deathkarz from a few years back, and Soldier of Fortune from a couple years ago.

Does anyone remember Defender of the Crown? I used to love it, but can't remember if it was on Amiga or C64.
If someone has a PC version of that one, please please please tell me!
Defender of the Crown C64 emulator [winload.de]
Ouch, don't ya use google? ;)
|Ouch, don't ya use google? |
I should have added non-emulator. I tried that version and it doesn't work properly for me. :(

well then, come over, come get some >:] ... ha, ha, ha!
<added>good news for ya here [gamespot.com], or?!</added>
Well, I've seen the news Yidaki, but it seems to be a different game trying to cash on the name of the old one.
Better stop this now or we'll have to open yet another thread
>it seems to be a different game trying to cash on the name of the old
Really? :( Well, i didn't dive further into the results ... accept my sincere appologize! I'm off to take some food now. Will be back to give you some ... ;)

and soon to be LOMAC :)
I loved a text only adventure called Zut Alors! on the amiga. An absolute classic.
More recently, Black and White had me hooked, IIS Pro Evo soccer is still the best footy game imho and Un real Tournament is the best FPS when all your mates are around for a gaming sesh!
Errm, others that spring to mind are Civilisation (just how many hours of my childhood did I lose to this game?!), The Championship Manager series (how many hours of my adult life have I lost to this game!?) and very recently Micros0ft's 'Rise of Nations' game has given me lots of pleasure.
Ive been away for a while, and thought it best to ease myself back into WebmasterWorld gently. How better else than to start in a gaming foo thread :)
Hehe. Good to be back.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors - I would kill for someone to remake that for either computer or XBox/PS2/GameCube. I loved that game. That and Centipede.
stickledene reminded me...
Civilization was awesome.
And any of the Infocom text adventures, especially the Zorks (back when imagination, not twitchy reactions, still had a part in video games).
And now I'm remembering X-com:UFO Defense. I had a lot of fun with that one!
Zork I-III: *****
I think that's what it was called. Many Saturday afternoons in the local pub playing that game over a few pints of beer. It was twenty odd years ago, but I can almost hear the voice mumbling something.
Who agrees with me?
sensible world of soccer should be rated with approximatley all the stars in the universe..
also a bit of a fan of pro evo soccer and gta vc.
I missed the stars rating in my last post :-(
Final Fantasy IV
Little Computer People Research Project
Street Fighter II
Super Cars II

No need to kill!
Just download a SNES emulator for the PC here:-
And the Zombies Ate My Neighbours ROM binary here:-
I remember playing that on my old VIC-20. I got really good at it on the VIC, but when I went to the arcade to play it, I got slaughtered.
trillianjedi...I think I love you. :) I'm slightly geeky as far as web stuff goes, but so not geeky as far as gaming goes. I looked for Zombies Ate My Neighbors a few years ago on eBay and decided I shouldn't buy a really old system *and* a really old game. Hmmm, now that I think of it, I was really really poor then. But cool, I can play it again tonight. Wait 'til I send the link to my partner in Zombie crime. There was one level we never beat.
[ETA - aw, those sites either don't have the download anymore or are gone. At least I know what I'm looking for now though]
