Hey that might be fun. I am in Spokane, Wa. but I make it up to Vancouver now and then.
1:11 am on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
A lovely drive and your buck goes farther .....
We could also come down to you next time .....
Both locations have liquid refreshments :)
1:17 am on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
Yeah, sounds good. There are a few of us here from Spokane.
1:23 am on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
The more the marriery, er ah, happier, er more productive?
Canada = lots of space, I'm sure we can accomodate .....
5:33 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
If you know the locals in Seattle, would you sticky them to determine interest. We can then set a time, agenda, location, menu, voting rights, ..... ;)
Anyone around Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops, ..... interested?
5:44 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
I'm in Victoria - the thoughts of some liquid refreshment might encourage me to hop on the ferry and float over... :)
5:51 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
of course I'm around too. :)
5:55 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
I would have joined you from Everett, WA as well if you had asked about 10 years ago.
6:05 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
I am in Spokane also and would be interested. I have never really spent any time up in the Vancouver area. Let me know when and where.
6:35 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
Sure, if there's a smoking section. I'd be coming up from south of Seattle.
6:52 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
Sounds like we need a sunny Saturday on an outdoor patio (smoking I think is allowed outdoors here).
Hmmmm, this could work. I'll work on a location. Propose 3 dates and see what the response is like. Does that work for everyone?
Chow for now,
6:56 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
Sounds good Shane. Thanks for looking into this.
7:01 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
Hmm...Vancouver in the spring, a patio, collecting on a few beers that Oilman owes me. Twist my arm. I might jet in.
7:07 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
I'm thinking we might want to wait until after PubCon....
7:11 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
I'll be making my biannual treks to BC interior in July first week in July and last week in August....sure hope you plan something then! I'll be there! Soon as I figure out were to ditch the rug rats. (FWIW...born and raised in BC...)
7:42 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
I'll make one of the options the beginning of July.
I was thinking more of mid-May to June timeframe but am willing to be flexiable. Any other thoughts or perferances?
7:49 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
The weekend of May 17 would be good for me. June or July feels to far away - that said, I'd be happy to pop over to the mainland again in July :)
7:57 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
I was thinking more of mid-May to June timeframe but am willing to be flexiable
lol, yes, you must all wait til I get there... ;)
of course I won't make the first one or even two, but I hope i happens often so i can make one!
8:18 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
D'oh! I was up there last weekend ... (freezing cold and snow, WTF was THAT all about?) ... Probably won't get back for 6 months or so.
8:31 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
Actually, Victoria might also be good. Great Pubs on the island. Oilman probably knows them all! We get to Victoria several times a year, just love it there. My wifes parents live just across the ferry in Port Angeles. Feels like you are in England. Of course it probably feels just ordinary to Oilman.
9:29 pm on Mar 14, 2003 (gmt 0)
Hey Hawkgirl, WTF was that all about, ..... Great White North, that was what that was all about ..... heehee
1:11 am on Mar 15, 2003 (gmt 0)
I'm actually flying in from London to Vancouver on 17th April until 5th May, meaning I am missing PubCon :(
Have relatives on Vancouver Island too.
Looks like I might miss this one too.
Such is life, guess it's PubCon in the Uk in the summer then.
2:53 pm on Mar 18, 2003 (gmt 0)
Count me out if it'll happen on the Island...my trip will already be 3,000 km, plus an extra 600 to Van and back... the island would just be too far.
But sticky me about ones planned for the Lower Mainland
5:06 pm on Mar 18, 2003 (gmt 0)
I'd be interested if something goes on anywhere in the greater Vancouver area.
7:28 pm on Mar 18, 2003 (gmt 0)
Yeah, I guess Victoria is a hassle if you have already travelled a long distance. Too bad, Victoria is a lot of fun. It doesn't really matter to me. I will be there wherever it's at. Late April, or anytime in May would be good for me. My schedule is pretty booked until after April 21st. I'm looking forward to it, since I can't attend Boston. I have another trade show that I can't miss during the Boston conference.
See ya in Vancouver.
11:27 pm on Mar 19, 2003 (gmt 0)
DrCool just pointed me to this thread. I might be able to make it over and up from the Tri-Cities area, depending on the date (as well as wife and family commitments).
But it sounds like a fun day. Never been to Vancouver, but would love to see the city so many people rave about.
3:53 am on Mar 24, 2003 (gmt 0)
I am also from Victoria. I won't be able schedule any extra trips over to Vancouver until after the Pub Conf. I am hitting Vancouver in a couple of weeks with row 14 seats to the Canucks though ;) Sticky me with details!
10:38 pm on Mar 24, 2003 (gmt 0)
I'll add you to the list .....
On a course now so more details later .....
6:47 pm on Mar 27, 2003 (gmt 0)
Sounds good. Put me on the list too.
Vancouver venue works for me - A two hour trip down from Whistler.
(Whistler gives pretty good beer and patio meetings too..... Maybe a future get together?)
