Who is WebmasterWorld's giant?
Some macho thread (for a change)

I have heard of SlyGuy beeing 6'5". From his perspective, I look like a tiny 6'3" 265 lbs 'person'. Who beats this beast? ;)

No. Miles aren't either. Or lbs. (Danish ones are larger!)

Macguru - I wasn't sure if you were joking but as far as I know Aussie feet are standard ones ;). We use metric over here anyway but '190 centimetres' just doesn't sound quite right for quoting your height.

toadhall - you might not be able to stuff us in the back of a crewcab but it doesn't worry me... my midget companions always offer the front seat anyway for the extra legroom :).

I'm 6'4", 230 Lbs. Desk are always too low, chairs too high. How come tall people are always asked to get things on the top shelf and no one asks short people to grab things on the bottom shelf? Why do shirtmakers insist on makng shirts for tall people, with short arms? :)

I am only 5"11, but you guys are all shorties compared to my friends. I used to play basketball for the south of england and lots of other regional teams... tallest I ever met was 7"1 couldnt jump couldnt play just stood there and got in the way most of the time :)

yokelrobin, welcome to the board.

DUDE, are you sure you did that conversion right? (6"5'/185!?). Wow, I'm 6'/180 and feel I'm underweight 10-20lbs.

I know I'm 13 stone :)

14lbs in a stone right? 13 14s are 182.

I wouldn't say I was underweight, but I probably am a bit.

To be honest.. I'm only a bit bigger than a bottle of champagne (excuse the stupid smile):

That could be a normal size bottle of Moet which would make you about 4 foot?

Got a friend who is size 17, and he's only just 6'. Think he has them custom made.

I'm 6'4" and for mexican standards I am a freak.
Its so unusual that I would feel out of place if I were to hang with you guys.

Pants are always too short, shirts with long sleeves are always too short, xx-large t-shirts are for fat people, not tall people and most of the time I feel like the ceiling is too close to my head.
But buying shoes is not a problem.

There are shops for tall people and overweight people (and for both together), but I always feel like I'm some kind of freak when I go in them - it's like you've been set aside from everyone else. Very strange feeling.

Wow, I just noticed this interesting thread!

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Yokelrobin, it's good to see another giant amongst us. Now it would be extra great if you happened to be Canadian too! ;)

For the record, I'm 6'5" and a little over 240 lbs and as far as my shoe size is concerned, I'm about 1 size away from custom made sneakers.

on being big..
PROS
- Ability to reach things on top shelf.
- Always get picked first in a game of basketball/football.
- I can see the whole screen at a movie theatre, regardless of who's sitting in front of me.
- I only use the phone book to look up phone numbers ;)
- Sitting anywhere on a roller coaster and getting that "front row feeling".

CONS
- Constantly hearing sales people say "Gee, I'll have to see if we have that size in the backroom".
- XL shirts having sleeves that come down to my elbows! (ala DigitalGhost msg #:33)
- People asking "How's the weather up there?" and "Do you play basketball?" and still thinking that is somehow funny.
- Sitting in the backseat of ANY automobile.

Cheers all,

- Chad

(PS - on a Canadian side note, does anyone remember "The Friendly Giant"?)

watched it all the time when I was a kid and numbered among the wee folk and clothes always were too big.

Now Rusty, hehe.

Just kidding Friendly. But who needs height (or shoes for that matter) when you've got attitude [poppyware.com]?

Sorry to bring up an old thread - but I felt I had to gloat. 6"5 and still about 5 months shy of 18 - though I dont think I'm growing much anymore.. May make it to 6"6 or at the most 6"7.

Yes, I am freakishly tall, but the truth is, I love it - and most girls seem to as well (and, of course, my legendary charm and charisma :)).

Of course being tall does have its dis-advantages - i.e flying... Im still getting therapy for that 22 hour flight to Rome.

Next time take an airplane. It's easier on the nerves.
