I picked up the GameCube, and BloodRayne. No "kiddy" element in BloodRayne. StarFox is fantastic on the 'Cube as well. I've tried all of them, sold PS2 and XBox and stuck with the GameCube.
I've always like the gameplay better on Nintendo systems. I kept my 64 system just so I could play Perfect Dark, which may very well be the best FPS ever made, and of course, it is coming out for the 'Cube. Mario Sunshine may have a kiddy element to it, but the game itself is great. Fantastic graphics, smooth play and intuitive game control. StarFox is already the Sunday afternoon game of choice for the family, when we're not shooting at each other on Perfect Dark. :)
I have a gamecube. I have played the others and the playability just isn't there for anything but nintendo. I also like the kiddie element because it usually has smother animations and better graphics. Resident evil rerelease was incredible. Trust me no kiddie element. My wife and son couldn't even watch me play because of nightmares.
I just beat eternal darkness and that also was pretty good. I also like that the cube gets a lot of games rolling out. Plus it just seems solid. The xbox was not. The price is also pretty good. I am waiting for the dsl modem to be released to start playing online. The size is a plus too. The xbox is huge. The gamecube is small and can be stashed away easily.
well thats me convinced :)
can't beleive wife actually offered to buy me a console! Lookin forward to 4 player Mario Party
Love the PS2. Their flagship games (Grand Theft Auto series, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Gran Turismo) are some of the best games out there and they are only made for the PS2.
All about PS2 here. Has the most games, I read recently, and it wasn't even close. Tons of good titles and I can still fire up all of those old psone games when I want.
<added>girlfriend (now ex) bought it for me last christmas and regretted it almost instantly. I belive "what have I done" was uttered soon after I opened it and disappeared into gaming mode for a short session (5hrs or so). :)
GameCube :P You need one of these, although the games are limited right now they are pumping them out at a good flow.
PS2 still gets my vote. Gran Turismo 3 rocks.
It's the reason I don't own one. :) I can go to my brother in-law's and race him when I need a fix.
Mediaplayer + Xbox = Fun, Fun Fun!
Gamecube has that usual Nintendo kiddie thing going on and I always cut myself of the jagged graphics on the Playstation 2.
How about GTA Vice City & Getaway on the PS2. Heard loads, played GTA.
Any chance of PC conversions?
GTA Vice City is out on the PC in Spring 2003 - so no worries there ;)
