Linux Magazine wrote a review of windows XP [linux-magazine.com]. (PDF)

It is a funny read.

The biggest reservation I have about
the product is with Product Activation.
Once you have your system installed
you need to seek approval from the
manufacturer (sic) that the system is
ready to use. Should you be in the habit
of swapping hardware on a regular basis,
you will find this to be a big pain
because you are limited to 6 changes of
hardware per activation. The types
of hardware change include replacing
motherboard or CPU.
