Classic Cartoon Buffs?

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a cartoon fanatic. I collect the classics, and the not so classics. After hours of research, or hours of working, when I'm too tired to read another word and absorb it, I love to sit back and watch a few toons.

Cartoon Network plays a great collection of classic toons in their Toonheads slot and I try to collect all of them.

Just ordered the entire SpeedRacer series on DVD. Anyone else like toons? Favorites? Wile E.? Droopy? Foghorn Leghorn? :)

I'm a toon fan myself. I don't get to see the classics much but every so often I happen across Classic Spider-Man while I'm channel surfing. Love Foghorn Leghorn and the crew. Love it when the slip a Speedy Gonzalez short into the rotation.

Mostly now tho I'm watch Simpsons, King of the Hill and Family Guy but you can't replace the classics like Fantasic Four.

Anybody here remember Marine Boy? Early anime. Early being 60s I think. Faded memory now, but the theme song just arrived in my head for a visit this past week. Hum it around the house. And what about Beany & Cecil? Don't hear enough about them anymore.

As for classic "static", BIG fan of Krazy Kat and Archie & Mahitabel. BIG.

Warner Boys? Stooper Duck, Giant Baby Kangaroo vs Sylvester, the Martian's Eludium PU-34 space modulator, the Hat caper with E. Fudd & B. Bunny, Singing Frog (of course!), Barber of Seville, Fearless Freep... every Saturday night when *I* was a brat.

And Mighty Mouse.

Marine Boy, with Cli Cli and Neptina. Didn't the same production company produce Ultraman? (not a toon, but still cool).

Don't remember Ultraman. Barely remember Marine Boy. ;)
Mind's eye sees lots of bubbles and a preponderance of blue.
Odd thing is, we had a B&W television.

Was Ultraman the guy with the pressure cooker on his head and sparks shooting out of an Electrolux on his back? I thought that was Rocketman. Always wonder how he didn't fry his butt. Then again, maybe he did! Twas the Golden Age of Television after all.

Ultraman: [waynebrain.com...]

Classic. :) And Neptina had a big pearl she used to see the future, and Cli Cli always got them in trouble. Mighty Mouse and his ring, snorting the magic powder...

Anyone remember El Kabong? And Baba Looey? The Quick Draw McGraw characters...

Beanie and Cecil. You remember Cecil, the sea sick sea serpent. And the Guided Muscle. Oh and don't forget No Bikini Atoll. That was a cartoon for kids of all ages.

S'alright?
My little sister had a plush doll Baba Looey. I had a guitar until I used it inappropriately after watching too many episodes.

>You remember Cecil
"Help Cecil help." "I'm coming Beany." All to well.

Who or what was the Guided Muscle? I hate to say it, but ROFL.

I was a nut-bar Dragonball Z fan until my neighbour cut the cable. Never did find out how Gohan fared with the evil half of Majen-boo. :(

Simpsons is by far the best cartoon ever made. Batman is also pretty good.

As far as classics I still remember getting up early every morning when I was in the 1st or 2nd grade to watch Star Blazers. I would love to see some reruns of that one.

Hi:

I KNOW we are not allowed to post URL's here... so I won't. But I do have a site (non-commercial) that deals exstensively with cartoons. I would be happy to pass on the URL in a sticky if anyone is interested. I am pretty proud of the site- it is PR 7 and has glasses at Yahoo!

And if anyone is a real fan of any specific cartoon, I would love it if you had further information on that cartoon to pass on to me.

(I hope this post is appropriate, admin's please delete and e-mail me if not...)

Wiley E. Coyote
--------

man, from loving this cartoon i now really hate it! i hate this beep beep bird! after i realized that this bird escapes every trap then cartoon became boring. i would undertand that if there is logic in this bird escaping BUT when i see scenes like this: the coyote sets a perfectly valid trap(something with spring let say orsimmialr than mosue trap). the bird goes there ,triggers the trap BUt the trap doesnt "close". no valid explanation! then the coyote tried and of course it goes off! man, this ticks me so mcuh when i see this... i heard that some guy paid studio that they made the episode when will cachtes that stupid bird and eats it - i would love to see this episode!

Oh boy! I can't miss this thread!
T.C., you know "close friend get to call him T.C., Top Cat!"
The Flintstones
Porky Pig, Daffy, Sylvester, Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam and the rest of the gang.
There are several memorable episodes from them all.

Mmmm... not a cartoon, but real close was the Muppet Show!

Loved an episode of ReBoot that was like X-Files.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast! great show :D
