hydrochloride?! That doesn't sound like anything I'd want to drink.
From what I understand, as long as the beer bottles don't explode in the freezer, it may taste a little "off" when thawed, and almost certainly be completely flat... but if your guests don't mind odd tasting flat beer, it won't kill them or anything.
(however, if you're likely to give your guests frozen beer, please remind me not to visit your house... ;) )

Sure, you can drink it, but it's flat. Just don't shake the can to mix the liquid with the frosty chunks to defrost it faster and then open it, or you'll be washing the ceiling.

It may be a little late by then.
i'm quiltily kicking in to half a bottle of a gorgeous liquer called Amarula - which is amazing, and i really should not drink it, but its getting harder to resist.

Thanks Marcia, not only you web guru's guru, you're also very useful when it comes to beer consumption as well, i think i'm going to finish this class, and get on the case with the beer.
It is completly thawed. to the point that it is warm, but its in a CAN.

Adam, its just like pavlov's bell. I still have found memories of all that consumption on an epic scale at pubcon.
The words i wanted to hear, i've never had such an underlying feeling that everybody whats to know that i am consuming my beers fit for a guest.

at about $3.50 each
With that said, it is safer to drink flat beer than it is to serve it. ;)

I do this almost every weekend. I generally fall asleep (on my keyboard) with one in the freezer and it's fine the next morning. (er... I mean evening).
Little flat, but I think bottled beer seems to kep it's fixx a little better than cans...

I think she feels, that the beer that was leaving for guests, is a little creul, just in case it kills them. Which it turns out is not the case, and i am happily sipping the first of many.

nice, you know it is always interesting to taste the beer through out the maturing process because it gives you a better appreciation for it.
Though some are better than others in their green stage. Some are horrendous.

The stout was extremely green at bottling (after being in the fermenter for 5 days, then in a secondary fermenter for a week)... it will have been in the bottles for two weeks as of this Sunday, so I figure I'll give it a try, and if it's still needing to mellow, I'll move it to the garage and forget about it for a month or so.
The next one will be a pale ale, and I've heard lighter beers mature more quickly, so perhaps it won't try my patience as badly. ;)
Soon, I won't even have to stoop to commercial microbrews! (I blame 4eyes and all that real ale he made me drink while I was in England... he ruined me.)

Hehhe... I never said I'd quit drinking in the meantime. A lot of microbreweries use the same style of bottles that homebrew shops sell, so I consider it an investment in bottling equipment. :)

that's why you keep rolling out the batches.
I did tons of it when I lived in Montreal but you can't buy kits or anything here. You have to go to place where they brew it for you, you just come in and stir it. I have heard that, here in Vancouver, it is actually illegal to brew it in your house. That would explain why you can't seem to get the kits anywhere.
I have even done a few batches with my Dad where we started from scratch, boiled barley and all that, good fun.
Nothing brings a family together like brewing beer. *sigh*
