Hi all,

This year I've persuaded my mum not to buy me clothes!

But, now I have to think of a good computer related book she can get from amazon instead. Your thoughts would be appreciated...

Things I'm into:
Linux, PHP, CSS, Marketing, General Geekdom ;)

Anyone read anything 'must have' recently?

Thanks...

Nick

Marketing

Not computer related, but if you haven't read this marketing book yet, it's worth 100 times it's weight in gold...

Getting Everything You Can Out Of All You've Got
by Jay Abraham

Jay's a marketing Genius and this book encapsulates all of the core ideas that people regularly pay $5000 to get in his recorded programs upwards to $15,000 for a seat at his live intensives.

Then help me on how you pulled that stunt! I am 40 years old and still have to unrap such enbarrassing gifts in front of the whole familly at every Christmass.

So what did you say , "I will save this tie for a criminal court session"?

And what exactly does your mother give you?

And Nick - I was being facetious, sorry, couldn't help it. My trail has led me off into XML land so I'm not much help other than to offer a book or two about PHP and XML together.

Redhat 8 Bible looks good and I love the blurb on that marketing book... neat stuff.

Usually ties and new shirts or other corporate office stuff. She insists on me to try them. How embarrassing! Whats wrong with my dress code [mooseburger.com]?

I could recommend lots o books - but not computer :) though I'd love to get my hands on a CSS ref or PHP :) but then i'd have to have the time to actually read them :/

How did you get your mom to layoff on the cloths tho? Mine does it too.. at least she downgraded to gift certificates for my birthday (the not so subtile hints of Levi's, Dickies and Doc's not slacks, blouses and heels ain't taking) after 33 yrs she still hasn't realized that I'll never be a Lady ;)
