How stupid can webmasters be?
How about sending spam to your web host?

A web hosting customer of ours sent spam today. Stupid? Yes. But it gets better. He paid a lot of money for someone to send the spam (thousands of emails), and we (his web hosting company) were on the spam list. His site was gone less than a minute after the first spams arrived. Even better is that we have control of his .uk domain so he can't instantly redirect the domain elsewhere.

Now sending spam to your web host is extremely stupid, but I'm sure you can all tell stories of even greater stupidity ... please tell, I'd love to hear them :)

hmmm... developing a catalogue for distribution of 200,000 with a big sign on the cover... Get Your Free Download! Details inside.

Catalogue designed, printed and distributed. Great Stuff!

The webmaster however, considered after the fact the initial download page should be in it's own sub-directory!

(I kept the log file for that day... and every brilliant idea the webmaster come up with, I provide the client another hightlighted print).

A marketing person in a company I worked for once sent out a mail to a large ('000s) un-edited list, containing unverified addresses. Trouble was, he set the list as the reply address to the mail.

Infinity in action (unable to deliver, unable to deliver, unable to deliver, . . . )!
