My favorite computer practical jokes

 11:48 pm on Oct 21, 2002 (gmt 0)

I used to have a set of wireless microphones and a mixing board. I hooked up the microphone to the mixer to the line-in on my computer and began recording using CoolEdit...

I took my mic to the office's bathroom down the hall and put the mic in the toilet bowl... FLUSH!

I went back to my office and cropped the recording down to size. Then, I put it on a floppy and walked over to my buddy's workstation (he was gone). I put the file on his HD and set windows to play that sound every time he did something :)

Oh yeah here's an even better one.

I went to my buddy's workstation (same one), and took a screen shot of his desktop. I opened Paint and saved it as a BMP.

Then, I set the desktop wallpaper to be that BMP.

Then, I selected all his icons and moved them off the screen and got rid of the Start bar.

It took him and the tech guy over an hour to figure out why none of his icons worked.

You can have loads of harmless fun with an innocent Mac user by stuffing strange little things in the Startup and/or Shutdown Items folders.

Mental note not to pass out in your company. Might wake up with one eyebrow. :)

Hehe pmac...

mahlon... the easiest way to get the icons back is to auto-arrange them. just rebooting won't do it.

We had a bloke that never did his work (that we needed)and used to play Solitaire all day long. We moved the shortcut so it opened up the anti smokers page on the web. He smoked.

There was a good one that mimiced the C drive being wiped, watch em panic.
