One of my favorite historians died today. After reading several of his books I had the chance to hear him speak on a few occasions and he was the epitome of a storyteller. One of his most engaging novels is "The Spine of America" The Mississippi and the Making of A Nation: From the Louisiana Purchase to Today which was a unique look at how the Mississippi helped form the U.S. This novel didn't get the attention that Band of Brothers did but showcases Ambrose's ability to tell a story.
Today marked the passing of a true storyteller.
