Made For Adsense sites.
Not against TOS, but they're annoying; What can I do?

I saw a site the other day, the same subject as mine but clearly made for adsense.
It contained 'widget info' that had been rehashed, copied/pasted bits slapped together, random 'facts' etc.

However, their "info" was often wrong... in some cases getting the terminology wrong, posting blatantly wrong facts or myths (things that a widget-illiterate person would think).

It's clear they aren't into widgets and know nothing about them. A widget person like me would not find the site of value.

The problem is it isn't exactly against the TOS.
I have complained to Google as the person had spammed my forum (well, registered under several different names each time leaving a different site, and they never posted) in order I assume to get links (the forum links to their site if they register)..... However I don't see anything that is technically wrong with their site. The whole site's a piece of crap, but I don't think Google can ban sites just because they suck, can they?

What can I do when I find such sites?

Made for Adsense sites were against the TOS the last time I checked.

If they really bother you, click the "Ads by Google" link on the ad and tell Google you saw their ad on a site with bad information.

On the other hand, if the site's really bad, they are probably getting no traffic to speak of, low EPCs when someone does visit and click, and so aren't making much money.

Your time is probably better spent making your own site even better than chasing after and trying to stamp out such sites....

They are not, in practice anyway. People often read this part:
No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page content is relevant.
as it being not allowed to make a site because you want to place adsense on it. I know sites that everyone would agree on that they are almost void of content and useless for visitors if there were no ads, but where Google helped with getting relevant ads etc.

That part of the policies is intented to prevent people from making things like adsense popups and interstitials, in my opinion. The content part in the sentence would then be a title tag and some keywords to get targetted ads.

Ofcourse it's pretty open to interpretation as always in the adsense policies.

Your time is probably better spent making your own site even better than chasing after and trying to stamp out such sites....

It can be very easy money, I am finding out myself now how much it makes for virtually no work.

Just joking.

Here's what you need to do.

Become an OFFICIAL TOS POLICE MAN/WOMAN.

They actually have openings listed on gr**gs list.

Here are the official requirments:

1, The ability to work for free.

2, Insane jeulousy of your competitors ranking.

3, An inability to practice SEO

4, A "victim" mentality (it's always the other guys fualt)

5, An ability to go into forums and say "ITS AGAINST THE TOS TO SAY THAT"

6, A lazy work ethnic that you secretly hide by using #4

7, The ability to ignore mature business princables and instead use kindergarden style business tactics.

8, A healty dose of anti depresant medication for the day when you wake up and relize that everyone else got rich off the internet ride, but you missed the boat, and you missed it becuase you where to busy looking at your nieghbors boat.

Feel free to add to this list, so we can update the Gr**gs job posting

It is best to leave to google to see who is against TOS or not.

There is a high probability that someone may be caaling your site a 'made for adsense' site.

Lex, let's just leave it at this, as I said earlier:
Your time is probably better spent making your own site even better than chasing after and trying to stamp out such sites....

I think we can all agree that's true.

Thanks for the info. I suppose such sites don't last long and don't get good rankings anyway.

I don't understand why some of you were rude, like Lex, (My site has a good ranking, BTW)...

The reason I like WW so much is because people generally behave decently. Oh well.

Because they fear you're reporting their scraper sites.

Those that decry the keepers of the TOS tend to be the breakers of the TOS.

Go figure.

Thanks Incredibill. I just realized that :D
And maybe I am reporting their scrapers.... I doubt it, but when a scraper/made-for-adsense site spams me or my forum, yes, I do report them :)

Oh, I agree :)
The person had spammed my forum which is how I even knew about the site (actually, 3 sites w/ similar content)...

Sorry if I was brash, just my nature. Plus what Incredabill said. As for the forum links, most likely coming from automated blog submissions, I wouldn't take it personaly. Just Business.
