How does AdSense decide which theme is correct? |

I don't want to come off as someone trying to extract false profits from AdSense, but I've always wondered (especially recently on a site that was showing ads not-relevant to my content) where on your page does AdSense actually extract the industry/keyword theme information to decide what topic it should address in the ads? I used to think it was all about whatever made up the title of the page, and then also the topic addressed in the H tags, but I'm just not so sure now.. Any insight?

I don't know for sure - but it seems as though keyword density plays a large role.

google's mediabot seems to pay attention to everything on a page, but it pays particular attention to whats above the fold and content in emphasized tags ( such as <h> and <title> ). this is less important, however, now that google has provided section targeting. more info here...
