firstiful hi to all, this is my first post on this forum ;)
I own a website, consists of a php mysql forum which I coded long ago. ITs content is turkish (my native language)
nearly a month ago I decided to put adsense banners on my website. although i read alot about adsense I am a bit shocked, here is what I get on a regular day:
so I earn lessden 3$ /day
is this normal?
PS: I doubled the banners, have one at the top, and one at the bottom. nothing changed, then make colourful banners and earnings are still the same ;)
any help / advise will be greatly appreciated,
thx in adv.

Hi and welcome to Webmaster World.
You need to remove the URL from your post as per the TOS, which does not allow them.
Having had a look though, there are two things that strike me. One is that it is, as you say, a forum, and forums tend to have a low CTR for Google ads as they have a lot of repeat visitors.
The second is that it is in Trukish and I assume that Turkey is where most of your visitors are from too and there may not be that big of an ad inventory available to you.
The other thing is that the banners are barely noticable. I didn;t even recognise them as Adsense right off, and I was looking for them specifically. Perhaps you could in some way have them within the pages, on the left maybe, although it would mean changing your template. Some forums have ads within the threads too, though that can annoy regular users quite a bit.
Also you have links to what I assume is more content at the top of the page, perhaps content more suited to adsense, but the links are broken so I didn't check there.

firstiful about TOS,
I dont want you to get me wrong, I am not advertising my website here. my website is turkish, which means advertising my site here is totally useless ;)
what I want is to get some comments on my website, because something is really wrong i think.
to get comments, adsense guru's like you, must see my site ;) this is the whole point.
anyway if you still belive that I must not post the adress i will edit the link.
@abbeyvet: what do you mean by saying banners are barely noticeable? banners have totally different background colors then forum theme. and i put them as google want me todo (cant remember the link, google adsense encogures us to put adsenswe banners on the top and/or bottom of the page. can you write down a few forum adress so that I can check what they did, how they put their banners. (you can send private message if it s also aganist tos)
thx for your replies btw.

I know it may seem odd not to be allowed post a url, but honestly nobody needs to see your site. I would have made just the same comments, though obviously inserted 'maybe' a few times, if you had just described your site.

I mean just what I said - I did not notice them at first, that is a fact. I did see them after looking at 3-4 pages, but not right away.

Yes, which means they look too much like classic banner ads, I have long since stopped even noticing those, as have many internet users. They are sat neatly into a header which I just thought was a page wide header, or to be more accurate I formed that impression without thinking at all, which is they way most people look at pages.
Everything needed to navigate through the forum is well below the ads, so you never have any need to look up again and see them once you are in the site - and if that is the case for a first time visitor (me) it will be even more so for a regular one.

I think you are referring to the heat map - which is here https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.htm - and if you take another look you will see that the extreme top right - where your ads are - is white, not a hotspot at all.
Top/bottom of the "page" refers to above and below the content, which are among the hottest spots.
I would just try putting them in either of the following ways for a few days - or even both - and see what effect it has:
a. Where they are, but on the orange background with no borders etc. Might make some difference.
b. Between the forum navigation and the messages, perhaps directly on the orange again or maybe on the same color background as the forum navigation itself. I think this would make quite a big difference.
