Theory on Adsense Targetting

I have noticed that it seems as though adsense may target ads not only from thecontent on the page you visit but also from cookies or the IP address the person browsing the site has. For instance I am often at investment sites with google ads on them. When I go to visit a dating site (example) I see investing ads in their adsense box.

When I use a different PC, I don't see the investing ads.

Am I on to something or just full of bolgne?

I've noticed that too.
But I could not spot cookies from G on my PC.

This is certainly worth investigating - it would be a major privacy violation if it's true.

I've seen plenty of instances where following different links to the same page yield drastically different Adsense ads. Most of them themed to the IBL's anchor text...

Google is well known for issuing a cookie, unless your browser has refused it.
Its well known because it expires in 2038
So its possible
