Scenario: you have a site that carries adsense and it does ok. You create a second site on a totally different topic. And of course you plan to carry adsense on it. You'd also like to give the new site a link from the first site to get it off to a good start. Does anyone see a problem with this? Ordinarily, I wouldn't think there's a problem at all. The link will be oneway only (no crosslinking) and at most there will be 1-3 links going from the first site to the second.
However, since this is adsense we're talking about, I feel compelled to ask if anyone sees a potential downside to this.
Clearly, google should be able to distinguish that the two sites are owned by the same person since the adsense code will appear on both. Is there any possibility google will devalue the link, or am I just being paranoid?
Also, does anyone have any reason to believe that adding code to a second, new site will somehow interfere with the performance of the first site? Again, that doesn't seem logical that it should...but most of us also thought that adding a second ad unit would be beneficial and for a lot of us it certainly was not.
