Glad to hear this! Congrats!
We often just read the negatives.
Make many photos and make a journey website out of it.
Put all Your travel expenses as
business expenses into Your tax calculation.
You are only going to Crete for creating this web site. All Your family members are only with You to have cheap easy to use photo models on the journey.
And imagine the face of the tax controll clerk, when You proof him, that Your Crete journey web site makes so much money, that he can nothing do against Your declaration, that it's business expenses.
My last spain travel was financed by a realtor sending me there to make photos from spanish real estate for vacation.
congrats - its always good to hear the success stories. I was planning something similar but just had a £1000+ servicing bill on my car :(. Mind you I can still afford a trip to Italy for Carnevale - and a brand new flashy sanyo Xacti to record the highlights.
I never pay a service bill for my car by cash.
I have car service stations as my clients.
I go there to service, make some photos to
increase their web sites and so the bill is paid.
I have only to pay the lease for my car, because I was unable to persuade Seat to give me the car for advertising.
Even my new winter tyres are the thank You of a car service station for my very successfull internet campaign for new winter tyres.
Congratulations David! Thanks for the inspiration. Thanks to Adsense, I'm joining Columbia House! Ten records for a penny! Woot!
make sure you've read the T's & C's - after you've topped up your Leonard Cohen collection you'll be stuck with the editor's choice month after month...
Actually, it's only part of the story. We are saving our Adsense bucks up to tour California in a Winnebago for three weeks in 2006. The Crete holiday is a little extra holiday we can afford due to Adsense going better than our projections.
I know that Adsense bucks are only Adsense bucks when they appear on my bank account balance, but things are looking good :)
I'm all excited having booked our first holiday away from the UK in a decade!
Congratulations david_uk! I'm going to let the rest of our team know about this- truly awesome that you're doing so well with AdSense. I hope you have a blast in Crete, and soon California!
ASA, always ecstatic after reading pubs' success stories on WebmasterWorld! :)

Thanks to Adsense for paying my wedding and honeymoon costs. Adsense has changed my life :) Beat that! ;)
Have a great time in Crete David!
A business partner of mine bought a 2004 Porsche 911 with money earned from AdSense.

Today, I just paid cash for a new car with the money earned from AS and the sale of a website based on AS earnings. Price Tag = 15,555 Euro.
Unfortunately, I still have to wait 6 weeks for it to show up. It's worth the wait tho.
I know that sometimes good news are lost amongst the concerns of others. It is also harder to get people to pay attention to good news than to bad news, but you can tell your team members that there are a lot of happy webmasters in the program.
enjoy Crete :)
Wow you people must have popular websites....
I thought 9,000 pageviews/day was good (my site) but erm.. I'm wrong. :P
Lucky! (c) Napoleon Dynamite

I remember signing up to adsense when it first came out, my site did about 3000 pageviews a day and even though i couldn't add adsense to all pages i was happy at the money i was getting. Now nearly 2 years later i'm getting days were i'm doing 2 million pageviews/day. I quit my day job because of adsense over a year ago and now i'm traveling some place new every few weeks. Adsense rocks!
Lovely place Crete - enjoy!
PS - I once bought a new pile of printer paper from AS [:)]
Ok, looks like this is an acceptable place to brag :).
Started Adsense: November 1, 2004
Finally made it into UPS Club: Jan 31, 2005 1:25pm with hours to spare! Yippeee!
After paying off most of our backed up credit card balances this month (with December's earnings), we're planning a large customer appreciation/company anniversary party next month (perfect timing) and, assuming things continue as currently, probably a couple week vacation to Ireland for 2 in April or May with what the IRS doesn't make off with.
Adsense DOES work. I found a few key tips on this forum and even more on the Adwords forum, to be EXTREMELY (as in 'breakthrough') enlightening. Would have taken a LOT longer without them. But don't blindly believe EVERYTHING you read either especially if it seems to work against your own results. Be patient and don't be afraid to experiment or to contact support when things look like they're totally botched and something is not working like it should for a long time (sometimes it's NOT your own fault). It also requires some careful study, close tracking, detailed statistical analysis and dedicated hard work at first (8 hrs a day for a couple months in our case), maybe even a little luck, and can be quite frustrating at times, so it MIGHT not be entirely suitable for the more squeamish. :-)
Good Luck all!
This motivates me to keep trying. One day, i want to be able to do what you just did.
I've had to start a new company just for adsense earnings to try to protect it from my consulting business liabilities... the price of success.
For every adsense winner, there are a hundred adsense losers who fail to clear the 100 minimum...lol
For every adsense winner there are 100 sandboxed sites/adwords losers…
"For every adsense winner there are 100 sandboxed sites/adwords losers… "
Now that was a good one!
How can anyone be an adsense loser if they play by the rules and make even a few pennies off of AdSense that they wouldn't have earned before? Just because you don't make a ton of money at it doesn't mean you are a loser.
