Invite a Friend to Join AdSense AdSense new feature FromRocky msg:1430949 1:03 am on Nov 17, 2004 (gmt 0) Google has asked us to do it a favour. There is no mention of any credit to do so except
... to monetize your web pages by clicking the Invite a Friend link within your publisher account.
To monetize my web page? How?
How do you think?

I think that quote is out of context.
I've already deleted the email, so I can't requote it.

Slade here is the text.
Has AdSense worked well for you? Let your friends in on this simple way to monetize your web pages by clicking the Invite a Friend link within your publisher account.
Maybe instead of it saying your web pages it should say their web pages.

I think you're right, novice.
It means "monetize your webpages" in the sense of "monetize one's webpages".
It's curious that they should do this. Even FastClick pays commission if you refer a new member. Given that AdSense has been running for nearly a year and a half, I would have thought most people who were going to refer people to AdSense as a favour would already have done it.

Now they just have an easier way to do it. Don't underestimate how many people didn't do it just because they didn't want to make any effort.
Hasn't Google got enough advertising from the "Ads by Goooooogle" link? If they toss in a little incentive with this "tell a friend" feature, AdSense would spread like wildfire. or even more so.
