What prompts rejection?
google adsense rejection

 4:53 pm on Aug 6, 2003 (gmt 0)

Just opened a new site <zap> about 2 days back. applied for adsense today. note that the site is not yet indexed by any search engine. however what happened was that after applying for adsense , we recd the email to verify emaila ddress. I did that , however my partner did not know that i had already done that so he verified it again. Imm we recd a mail saying the site had been rejected with of course no reason given.

could it be because:
1) We gave a postal address of India?
2) site is database driven?
3) it has too many ads (text as well as graphical already?)
4) bcuz we clicke on confirmation mail twice?
5) site has not yet been indexed?
6) we havent recd enough minimum hits as yet?

can i apply again? if yes how soon?

i know the som reasons may seem crazy but i think i m getting paranoid. Any help will be very much appreciated. Plz help folks.

My site also got rejected. I can rule out some things for you:

We gave a US postal address.
The site is indexed by google
Some portions of the site are static, other

We are far from the most popular site on the 'net but we do get a good bit of traffice, lots of it from people doing PHP-related Google searches. We have nothing remotely "adult" on the site. So I have no idea what is going on.

Whizkiddo - you should remove your URL from your post. It is against the TOS at WebmasterWorld.

1) We gave a postal address of India?

Nope, there are accepted publishers from India using AdSense.

2) site is database driven?

Possibly - if the URLs have session IDs, AdSense cannot serve targeted ads.

3) it has too many ads (text as well as graphical already?)

Very likely, particularly text ads. Read the AdSense Terms, FAQ & Policies for full details on what can and cannot be included for additional advertising. And overkill of advertising could be another reason for rejection.

4) bcuz we clicke on confirmation mail twice?

5) site has not yet been indexed?

Possibly - others have reported problems with new sites that are no longer in the index.

6) we havent recd enough minimum hits as yet?

Unless you have Google your stats, they wouldn't know how many hits or page views you receive. However, they could always guestimate considering the site launched 2 days ago and is not indexed by Google.

People have been accepted after initially being rejected. You should always use your most established site to apply for AdSense, because they accept and reject for a wide variety of reasons. It is always possible that none of your listed reasons had anything to do with your rejection.

I agree with Jenstar "2, 3 and 5" are your most likely reasons.

Another thing to consider, judging from the name of your site, that AdSense is primarily for content sites, not ecommerce sites. If your site doesn't have much true content, AdSense wouldn't have anything to target ads with, and they would have been right in rejecting you. However, if your site is filled with pure content (ie. consumer articles) then you should look at the reasons above.

Sorry for posting URL , did not notice it at the time.
Jenstar : the site is content based only.

I think the problem might be that a third party client software that we use for displaying ads sometimes shows adwords ads. Could this b the reason?

also to link to other sites , for more information ; we have used popup window so that a new window opens with that address.

similarly for detailed def of terms , a small popupwindow opens at the side which is more convenient for the user to read and then get back to the original article.

is google this strict about popups? at no time do we serve popups for ads or anything else then the 2 reasons i gave.

I have mailed google if they could bother to specify details for rejection, but I dont think they will.

So once more ppl waiting for ur replies and thanx to those who gave their advice.
