Yesterday's EPC was about 25% of the previous day

I'm not normally one to cry wolf when I have a bad EPC day, but yesterday's EPC was outrageous (about 25% of the previous day). (Clicks were the same, well into quadruple figures).

I'm wondering if this was seen by others as well or if this is smart-pricing biting me in the proverbial buttocks.

I was about 2/3 of usual for the same clicks. Hopefully it's not a new trend.

don't know about that day, but my monthly is about 20% lower than average. Since I don't have data from last year, nothing to compare it to...

The 26th had a 4 times higher EPC then what i usually make on average. Then I have days were i have 4 times less then the average.

I only compare long term figures, daily stats fluctuate way too much to make me sweat. So often i thought oh no now it is only downhill just to see the following day a sharp rise again. All in all, since i joined the income is steadily increasing for me.

viggen

Depends on your industry. Travel sites could be doing well, while other industries are quieter at this point due to summer holidays/people travelling/away from the college computer and so on....

I don't expect to bounce fully back until August...

That day wasn't statistically significant for me. CTR was in the middle of its normal range and EPC was at the high end of its normal range.

Worst day ever...in 12 months. Have to wonder if effect of people turning off javascript but impressions seem about right. Lowest epc ever, and well out of the norms.

On just that particular day I had earnings about 1/5 of usual with all other factors being normal or slightly better than average. Before and after that day earnings appear to be as usual.

My EPC was up slightly yesterday, and today (so far) it's the highest in quite a while.

On the other hand, my EPC for the previous 7 days was slightly less than the average for the current month, and my EPC for the current month is very slightly less than my EPC for last month. So it's likely that the improvement in the last 36 hours is an anomaly, and that such short-term changes don't represent any kind of trend.

Similarly, it's likely that the current month's slowdown has less to do with Google than it does with the marketplace. (I have a travel-planning site, and many vacationers have already planned their summer vacations by now. Based on past experience, I'd expect booked revenues--and possibly AdSense earnings--to climb again in September as people return from the beach and plan fall travel to the destinations that I cover. But if there is a revenue increase, it won't be a trend; it will reflect normal season variation in supply and demand.)

Over all, our income is increasing month after month. No cause for alarm when stats goes down in a day or two but bounces back up afterwards.

Alika would normally agree with you, however this day was a huge difference. CTR stayed up but EPC was less than 40% of already lower epc this month. Revenues and EPC move all over but th lowest of low tend to jump out at you.

My EPC increased about 65% starting June 25th. Perhaps Google adjusts EPC using "smart pricing" every so often in a manner similar to the way they adjust search engine ranking.

I agree that Google must have made an adjustment to their smart pricing. EPC has plummeted for me, but for others it has gone up. Can't imagine why it would be smart for my sites to have such a low EPC. Sure wish there was an alternative....

I don't usually post on this kind of thread, but since I have stats from June 2003 I can say that this was the lowest CPC and CPM month I ever had.

Although not a reason to go crazy removing AdSense, it's not something that makes me happy. I've seen better payouts before.

My EPC has remained the same but my click-through rate has halved. Strangely this began when I signed the new terms.

I'm seeing really wild swings in EPC on some pages. CTR swings less but those swings seem to cover a wider selection of pages.

It seems like the higher my EPC is, the lower my CTR is. Rather interesting to ponder.

The result is that my effective CPM is with-in pennies of previous months.

That date ain't that bad from me but the day before was good.

I find this month EPC was generally lower than last month though.

Or is it the higher your CTR the lower the EPC? Something else to ponder.

26 and 27 was our best days ever. We normally have very low traffic over the weekend and the ads are well targetted and EPC and CTR was very high.

My EPC was up a bit yesterday, CTR was solid, and revenues were higher than they'd been in recent memory even though traffic was a smidgen less than it usually is on Mondays.

Yesterday was also my first full day with image ads on the home page, so I wonder if the image ads were a factor.
