I am in the UK right now and i am showing an update in the payment info.

You would think it would be done during a workday, at least at a resonable hour in the US. It is 1am in California right now?

Lets hope they actually send the checks as well as SAY they have been issued in a resonable timeframe this go around.

Cheers

I don't think we can assume they've been physically mailed out. It could mean the data has been calculated and sent for the checks to be processed, and then mailed.

A lot of companies contract out payroll processing to specialized companies, which works on the same principle. Or it could mean some kind of inter-departmental transfer within the company. That would explain the time lapse between when we see the date indicated that payment has been sent and when the checks actually start arriving.

Spot on .......

This is just confirmation that things the adsense end has been calculated and the data has gone to the payment processor / printers and then it will be mailed out.

Don't expect to see anything before the 5th of March.

Definitely means mailed date... after last month's mix up.

Will be to US publishers within a few days.

I expect the check to be in California around Feb 26, 27.

I REALLY DONT GET THE CHECK METHOD!

I got the check after 1 mont, I go to the banck and they are mailing the chec back in USA with DHL.
After ~ 3 weeks the money are transfered to my bank account from USA using wire transfer :(

So ...
Where is the deal?
I really want direct wire tranfer :@
No more checks and related problems...

With the amount of money Google is paying out, I'll bet each day they sit on it pays for another bean counter for a month, and each new bean counter can advise them of at least one more excuse to delay payment.

I wonder if the one that came up with the Thanksgiving holiday excuse has been promoted by now :)

I am a US publisher and there is no way in hell that I will get my check "in a few days". Please don't start that again.

I doubt this is the case. Assuming that they are paying $10,000,000 every month. Using current market rates for Fed Funds of 1% then:

( $10MM x 1%) / 365 = $274

Average annual pay for a bean counter = $61,339 {could not get it for Mountain View, but San Jose is pretty close}.

Monthly pay = $5,112

From Salary.com
The median expected salary for a typical Accountant III in San Jose, CA, is $61,339. This basic market pricing report was prepared using our Certified Compensation Professionals' analysis of survey data collected from thousands of HR departments at employers of all sizes, industries and geographies.

BTW, San Jose is a pretty expensive place to live. Moving from my hometown {a top 20 US City} to it would require a 56% increase in my salary to mantain my standard of living {according to one internet source}

Right on loanuniverse!

I personally don't think they have a premeditated reason for keeping payments, possibly just organizational challenges.

After the last few months I gather that their "payment sent" really means..."We have processed your clicks and your check is confirmed to be X amount of dollars...we sent it on for check printing...YOU ARE NOW IN THE LOOP!

Only with Google, you have to wonder if they are using some kind of automated system. We all know that Google loves automation “often good in most situations”. But for the payment to be posted on Sunday at some goofy hour? Considering, 1. No Mail Service on Sunday. 2. Many businesses in the U.S. don’t operate on Sunday. I’m sure there are people at Google at all hours, but I find it hard to believe the AdSense group is around on Sunday. This leaves me to believe that what really is happening is something like: When all of the accounts go threw some kind of monthly end audit and the computer has determined everything is complied and ready to go to payment it automatically posts payment sent on the AdSense page. Maybe A-Advisor or someone can confirm this?

Of course it's automated. How could it not be?

We know that Google has not kept the payment on time lately but give me a break. I'm tired of reading this.

So if it is automated which it really looks to be, then certainly no one can say it’s going to be “just a few days” before checks arrive. Because it could be “just a few days” before the checks even start printing. I did kind of miss stalking the mailman. Ah.. The fun begins again.

AdsenseAdvisor: (if you're reading this thread) Would you please take this suggestion back to the 'plex...

Change the text on the Payment history date page from 'Payment sent' to 'Payment approved'. Not only would that cut down on the disappointment of checks not arriving shortly after the date, but it would also create a warm fuzzy feeling. My belief from reading this forum is that the unfortunate labeling of that date is the source of one of the three or four biggest gripes about adsense. And, that one is pretty easy to fix. ;)

And while you're working on this, ASA, consider a ups like tracking system and an additional search tab at google.com so that we can search and controll in real time which plane our check hits and what's the name of the person currently holding the envelope in his/her hands/bag currently.

And a Payment arrived note in the admin would be cool to.

C'mon fellows ...

I believe the checks have already been sent.. the page used to show 'Payment Processed' and they removed that.. if 'Payment Sent' now means 'Payment Processed' then there's going to be just as much complaining this month as last.

Google is smarter than to make the same mistake twice.. I stick with my estimate that the checks have already hit the mail.

LOL! Wow that was great! Yes I think everyone gets a little too worried about these little things. How about we all go build some content and let the checks arrive when they will anyway? ;)

Now if you want to talk about Google doing bank deposits...I'm all for it!

Don't forget that AdSenseAdvisor mentioned that "Payment sent" in the AdSense publisher reports simply means that Google sent the payment to their payment processing company, not that the payment processing company has cut and mailed your check.

Is everyone seeing payment sent or does it take a while for all systems to catchup? I'm not seeing anything posted as january would be my first check - is there a delay on the first ones?

They just keep geting worse with payment. Here's how the last three months have been with my check.....

Payment history date: 12/8/03
Check made: 12/11/03
Check mailed: 12/15/03
Day I got it: 12/19/03

11 days from payment history date to geting it.

Payment history date: December 17, 2003
Check made: 12/19/03
Check mailed: 12/31/03
Day I got it: 1/5/04

19 days from payment history date to geting it.

Payment history date: Wednesday, January 21, 2004
Check made: 1/29/04
Check mailed: 2/7/04
Day I got it: 2/12/04

23 days from payment history date to geting it.

At this rate you won't see it until about March 20th, if your in the USA. If you are in France, you'll get it in, oh, about a week.

Direct Deposit.

Thanks.
