|Viewing Adsense stats on holiday|
Easy way to extract Adsense info?
| 4:11 pm on Jun 8, 2006 (gmt 0)|
Iím going on holiday for a couple of weeks soon and will be checking my Adsense stats as always (I know!). The place where weíre staying has a computer with net connection but I donít really feel safe signing in to my personal Adsense account on a public computer (probably full of spyware etc).
Just wondering if thereís a way of pulling this info to a hidden page in one of my domains using an existing script (or php code)?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but Iím sure someone in the Adsense section has done this before.

Change your password b4 you gon on holiday and when you return. I use public computers, or a wifi connection all over the world, and have never had a problem with secure log-ins.

Still don't fancy doing that, would prefer another way. Anyone?

One thing you could do in theory - but doesn't work - is to use the custom report option to get stats emailed to you on a daily basis. I have reports emailed to me daily and the stats aren't correct - they understate actual earnings by 20-40%, ie the email and online versions of the same reports differ.
A better option, if you have someone competent who you can trust back home, is to get them to check your stats and send you an SMS on a daily basis.
Personally, I either use my PDA to check via GPRS or, better/cheaper, wifi, or use a computer with kiosk software and test it to make sure that it works properly (ie no info is retained, cache is cleared etc.).

Sticky me -- I created a small VBScript that runs on my home machine, logs into AdSense at 2:57am (ET) in the morning and grabs the current earnings for the day, then closes that connection. it holds the info in memory until 9:30am (ET) and then sends to my phone as a SMS.
I leave my PC on when I go away on vacation, and every morning I get an update on my earnings. Sometimes there's a variance between what's reported at 2:57am right before the day flips over for AdSense, and what I can see if I look back later in the reports -- but it's close enough.

You could just have the reports emailed to you. I'm pretty sure this is a function in the Adsense control panel.
