activex install on a page that has adsense
is it allowed?

Are you allowed to have activex install pop up show up on your page asking you if you want to install software if you have adsense on the page also? if not can i just have a link to a different page saying click here to install and it will open up a new page without adsense?

Read the Program Policies. It fairly clearly prohibits requiring users to download software, as well as the reprehensible practice of trying to install spyware.

If you have a legitimate piece of software you want to give users the option of downloading, I'd do a mock-up and run it past Google first.

Ok but it should be ok to have lets say a banner pointing to a site and then when you go to that site it install software as soon as you visit it. That site wont have any adsense on it.

Ask Adsense if you really want to be sure. After all, they are the ones that will ultimately say yes or no.

All we can do is give educated guesses.

If we say, "sure it's fine" and your account gets banned because of it, then you would have wished you skipped us and went directly to the source :)

just my two cents, but if I were Google, I'd be pretty quick about removing ads from any page that initiated an activex install...
