My website's Adsense revenue was going down hill. Whereas I was getting about a 3.1% CTR, it had slid down to less than .5%! Yes, impressions and traffic were still good.

So, I reshaped my Ad structure. Before, my ads were on the right column, the Tall Skyscraper mode. In the new model, they are the Large Rectrangle, right above the main article in the middle column. Your eye instantly falls on it, like a chick that lost her bikini top at the beach.

Result? The next day, CTR's were in the 5%-6% range - and have stayed there...this is about a week ago. I'm loving life.

Just a note to pass along to help others....

I have low traffic still, but I though anything under 10% was bad, i am ok with 12-20%, some sites in the 20-30% range...

but like i said, my traffic sucks still...

Last time a girl lost her top at the beach I clicked her right away.

I did the same thing a long while back, after having a skysrcaper on the left side. I just joined adsense and didnt really give it any thought. I just placed the ad there and forgot about it.

After a few months, I changed the ad format to a large rectangle.

The earnings went from $50 a month to $500 a month (back then, immediately), mainly because of putting a large rectangle in the center, blended in the content -- just above the fold as you did. CTR went up similar to yours as well.
