Click throughs but no earnings
Why

I'm new to adsense and am currently not even reaching a dollar a week as I have no traffic.
Can someone explain to me why, sometimes, my 1 or 2 clicks a day don't generate any earnings in adsense. When my clicks are so low it makes the earnings per click even more valuable so is there a reason .....?

thanks

When you say "my" clicks I hope you don't mean that you made them? If that's the case, that's the reason right there.

If you didn't, then AdSense may have otherwise determined that they weren't valid clicks--made by foreign visitors, or the page didn't load, or whatever.

Sounds like what you need is good traffic.

If you have unique content, then publicizing it appropriately in your area will get you visitors.

If you dont have unique content....

Your control panel shows clicks but the earnings show zero?

i've just logged in to adsense. It shows 64 impressions, 2 clicks = page CTR of 3.1 % but no income?

Are you seeing a lot of PSA's? (Public Service Announcements?) It could be that the clicks you have had are on PSA's - you don't get paid for clicks on them.

I have a page that has showed almost 500 impressions today. It started off this morning at 4 clicks, earning 0.03 cents. The reported clicks have since gone DOWN to 1 click earning a magnificent 0.01 cent. I have not seen any PSA's on this page.

Not trying to sound argumentative, but how do you know the ads were clicked in foreign countries?

Can somebody please clarify this? You mean we have a facility to see what countries specific clicks are coming from. Or have a misread the post. Apologies if I have.

Sorry I never read the previous post - but I guess I am thinking the same.

There is theoretically a mechanism that can do this but few webmasters actually use it.

assuming it doesn't break any TOS with Google.

Well, what if the OP knows from his or her stats that all visitors are from "foreign countries", then it would be rather certain the clicks also come from foreign countries. However, it would be a bit strange to have a website that only gets visitors from other countries than your own country. And if the question is "are these your own clicks?" then the answer "no they are clicks from foreign countries" is an odd kind of explanation. Just "no" would do.
This all makes me curious folks...

But anyways, to answer the OP:
The same thing happens to many of us early in the morning. You get some clicks but no earnings. It levels out later during the morning. There can be many reasons:

- PSA's (public service announcements, in other words, ads that don't pay but are there for the common cause or charity or whatever)
- Adsense justn't doesn't charge the earnings at the same time as the clicks.
- Clicks were invalid. For example because Adsense considers them to be coming from questionable sources.

'Not trying to sound argumentative, but how do you know the ads were clicked in foreign countries?'

- Because my stats showed me the site had to visited only by users not in my country .

'Would you be kind enough to share this with us '

I have no idea how to carry that out!

HI Guys,

humblebeginnings - thanks for your comments. the reason I said foreign countries was simply to express the fact that it was not me ie due to the fact taht all my hits that day were foreign, well then i know that the clicks were from a foreign country too.

Thanks
