Winter Olympics Impacting AdSense Imps?
About 10% less impressions on Saturday

Compared to last Saturday, 10% less traffic.

It's also the 3rd week in a row, where Saturday brings more earnings than Friday.

Friday has usual has much more impressions, but Saturday a stronger eCPM over compensating the less impressions.

I was going to wait until Sunday's earning's were over before posting similar!

Traffic and clicks were down about 10% however the EPC and eCPM remained good therefore Saturday ended up a good day.

Incidentally, today I am having a storming performance so far with one of my best-ever days at this time of day, 16.00 GMT. It will be very interesting to see the 24 hour results.

Give me more Winter Olympics! Very good earnings for a Sunday, due to EPC and CTR both being significantly higher than usual. And there are several hours to go.

Or is it the snowstorm in the Eastern US, keeping people indoors more than usual?

About 10% slower for my sites too. Maybe it will improve this week, as major snow storm in the northeast US keeps people at home stuck inside.

I guess Sunday workers spend the day surfing the net.

Between the Olympics and the Winter X Games I'm getting my highest page views of all time, but the average amount being paid for clicks is dropping as my PVs are increasing. Could it be because the high PVs are causing AdWords people to spend their entire budgets more quickly? Anyway, I'm not making a whole lot more then I was in December, but on the other hand I'm not making any less either, so I'm happy about that, and I'm happy about the PVs too.

Aha...does this explain my highest-ever Sunday? As good as any weekday and some +9% on my February daily average so far.

I don't know where you are, but where we are there is two feet of snow on the ground. Had a great time playing in the snow with my daughter but otherwise didn't go anywhere on Sunday. So why not check AdSense stats?

Sometimes making a post like the one I quote is reasonable, but in this case, a bit quick to pass judgment.

I want your snow! :)

However, my neighbors might not be quite so interested.

I was out gambling with my wife while listening to live music and watching go-go dancers, does that qualify?

Then driving home 2 hours and rolling in at 3 am ...

Think I've been out enough for a day or two.

BTW, put up a site ABOUT the Olympics and maybe your CTR would be going up ;)

My traffic this weekend seemed a little laggy, too. Today as well.

Had to wonder if the Olympics were making an impact. Personally, I couldn't care less about them. But I think I'm in the minority.

I wrote an article about certain Olympic athletes in Turin and it sort of boosted my CTR on Sunday.

That, and the weather in the Southeast/Northeast U.S. has been cold and snowy. When this happens on the weekends, it's great news for Adsensers!

My traffic was down but I think it was because people were out gambling with their wives and watching go-go dancers.

iBill

I was out gambling with my wife

Is that the same as "I was out with my wife gambling" or is it a new kind of self-inflicted, masochistic, the wife always wins whatever I do, gambling?
