The gift last year was a funky Google branded mood light/radio

Yep I got one of those! Cool thing! But eats batteries!

Shame on you, Nitrous. It's the thought that matters! ;)

What's the threshhold? How much do you have to earn to get on Google's Christmas list? And what countries qualify? (I assume they're the two factors that it depends on.)

That Google radio came in awfully handy when my home was powerless for 10 nights after Hurricane Wilma. It brought new meaning to the "God Bless Google" prayer when that seemingly insignificant cube would bring me news of the outside world and a steady flow of light (in red, green and blue).
I am a Google AdWords customer too so I don't know if I got it as a sponsor or a publisher. It was definitely a cool thought that I figured would dry up once Google went public and would be accountable for its expense line items.

Dont know if its an "amount" or the time you have been a google adsenser. But I have been for two years and 3k monthly. Interestingly not everyone gets the same thing?

Yeah, even when it's OFF! Every time I go to show it to someone (I have a "real" stereo I normally use for music) I have to pop new batteries in despite that it hasn't been used for a month...

Are the gifts for US publishers only , any non-us publisher got it?, and YES it is the gesture that matters not the gift even a Google Badge or a G T-shirt will make me happy, it makes us feel G' values their publishers :-)
4:30 am on Dec 6, 2005 (gmt 0)
deepesh - yes non-US publishers have received things in the past.

It must be the amount as a friend of mine who has been doing it the same amount of time did not get anything.

I am expecting smart price algo removed GIFT ;-)
A nice G T-shirt will be handy.

Yeah - it weighs your page impressions, earnings, click-through rate, conversion rate, general usefulness of your site(s), number of annoying support emails over the past year, adds in a secret "naughty or nice" algorithm based on the types of things you've been searching for, and then out pops either the super-special Google Globe (patent pending) via FedEx Priority, or an unexpected email entitled "Important note from the Google AdSense Team" that causes several instant heart attacks around the world upon merely reading the subject line, but then just goes on to wish you a "Merry Non-Denominational Winter-Related Festively Decorated Conifer Holiday!"
3:40 pm on Dec 6, 2005 (gmt 0)
A wrist watch with google logo inside would be cool ;)
3:57 pm on Dec 6, 2005 (gmt 0)
or a secret decoder ring!
10:55 pm on Dec 7, 2005 (gmt 0)
I never had a problem with batteries in the radio, perhaps it is the light that eats them up. I typically use it in just radio mode. For a while I used it nightly for several hours and it was a month or two before I needed to change the bats.

This is the place to buy yourself a Google gift. ;)

I got a gift last year, a booklet entitled "8 tips to optimize AdSense" (or something similar).
Everyone else was talking about their cheesy radio, and I was flippin' the pages of my little tip guide.
My present doesn't require batteries to run! Ha Ha!
grumble grumble grumble

Google is very info hungry. Did any of you look inside your radio to see if you are being bugged?
Heck yes I'm paranoid. If Google's growth continues Big Brother will be watching. :-)

The clock is ticking... no one is receiving anything yet from santagoogle. It seems no gift this year. :(
8:41 am on Dec 10, 2005 (gmt 0)
My ideal google gift would be a big box that contains a large amount of used fivers. Alternatively some gadget that looks cool - it doesn't have to actually work, just look good!
I've been good! Please santa Google!
Failing that, I'd be happy with the promise to publicly dump a few of the scammers as an example, and then work on cleaning up the crappy ads. But this may be happening already, so just dress it up in some festive tinsel and bung a few extra dollars into my account.
Smartpricing - we can dream, but it 'ain't gonna happen.
But I guess I'd really appreciate some gadget or other, wrapped in nice xmas wrapping paper most!

Got my gift this morning.
My Google AdWords VAT back. I'm in the UK.
Thank you Google.
8:56 am on Dec 10, 2005 (gmt 0)
The new Google gift is a nice watch that monitors online your activities and transmits them to Google.
