Yes they do..
Dont let goolge send you the money in Peso.. some people complain that it gets lost in the mail.. U$ is safer.. upside is google will replace the check..
I choose to get my money using secure payment option paying $24 :)

good thing google will replace lost checks. i think $24 will make a big cut to my $107 check. maybe when my payout gets bigger i'll consider it.

Yes you will need a dollar account.. it will take the bank around 15-19 working days to clear your check..
I use my HSBC account.. I also have a citibank account and inquired with them.. they take around 15 days clearing..

My checks don't take that long to clear. I'm with BPI. So far I've had no trouble receiving my checks on time. Although they take forever, I do know when to expect them.

Hello. I`m happy to see you guys here.
vbignacio, I was once like you 5 month ago. You know, based from my experience, first times realy s**ks. I`ll share to you my experience which I quoted from my blog;
"Around first week of June, this year. I received my first check of my earnings from Google Adsense. Of course, I was so happy 'coz I had proven already that all this Adsense things are really true. The check was delivered in our office by DHL. To avoid the month long waiting time for the clearing of check, I choose to receive a check in local currency. The clearing time of checks in local currency usually takes 3 days compared to dollar currency that usually takes a month to clear.
A day after I received the check, I went to Citibank Makati to in cash the check because the check indicates that it is payable to that bank. But what I discovered brought me to desperation because according to Citibank, I need to have a P100,000 to open an account, but I don't have that amount of money. So, my problem then is how can I in cash my check.
What I did is I requested Google to cancel my check and to resend me another check, now, in dollar currency. In dollar currency because I thought It will lessen the problems in opening an account. Google immediately answered my inquiry and they promise to resend my check in the next payment period. But two payment periods has already gone up but they havent included it in the succeding payments, until I loss hope.
It was only yesterday that I noticed that they include my unsent payment for July's earning and hope to receive it either this week or next week. I thought Google will not send my money anymore.
Actually, the payment is not that big compaired to my July earnings. Wala lang, sayang din kasi.
It was only last month that I discovered that I can open an account in any bank, not just in Citibank, where an initial deposit is very much lower. But it was to late when I descovered that.
Wew... first times are really always memorable and challenging.

Now, since nandito na rin lang tayo, have you guys in the Philippines already received your payment for September? I`ve been waiting for it a week from now.
9:53 am on Nov 3, 2005 (gmt 0)
I just unheld my payment so I should be getting it end nextweek..
Like to hold payment to maximize the seccure payments of $24.. :)

so glad to hear from you guys! actually i started his thread not just to inquire about adsense payments but to get to know my fellow Filipino webmasters here in WW.
anyway i havent received my September check up till now.

If your mode of payment is through secure delivery (DHL), you will receive your check tomorrow or on monday. I confirmed it at DHL website. But if you choose ordinary mail, well, I don't know. :)

You do not need to go to Citibank to encash your check. Just deposit it to your peso account at any bank and it will be cleared after 3 days.
I'm thinking that we'll get the check on 2nd or 3rd week of this month, that is if you opted for ordinary check delivery. It is still too early to fret about it.

kenshin i just want to make this clear. do you mean if my check is in dollars i can still deposit it into my peso account and my bank will, after the check has cleared, credit my account with the equivalent in pesos? my bank is BDO and i havent inquired about it yet.
5:51 am on Nov 4, 2005 (gmt 0)
Sorry, I was talking about peso checks.
But with regards to your question, actually you can do that. I used to deposit (for collection) my Google dollar check in to my Metrobank peso savings account back in the time when Google only send dollar checks and I still didn't had a dollar account. Whenever the check clears the bank just credit my peso savings account. But it still have to clear for about 15-20 working days so it's better to just get a peso check so it will be much faster.

I think regular checks are sent from Singapore, I have received mine here in HK on the 1st of Nov. I opted for local currency to avoid the delay of encashing the check.
If you're money is not so big, I suggest getting the check in peso so you can spend the money sooner. I use to receive USD check, the difference in the google exchange rate is very small when comparing to local bank rate.
Btw, I'm glad seeing more pinoys here.

local currency would be very convenient but since it doesnt take long to clear, we dont have enough time to have google cancel it if it gets stolen since the would-be theif could encash it immediately. if you've watched imbestigador's feature about the hokus-pokus in our postal system, you would take some precautions too.

Hello to my fellow kababayan! Just want to share some thoughts especially to vbignacio. I was once like you when I receive my first check. What I did is inquired on banks like BPI and banco de oro and lucky enough that the deposit needed to open an account is only USD100 ( for BDO). But since Google offered a peso check i closed my dollar account and deposit my succeeding checks to my peso account. I can't afford to wait that long!( 25 days clearing and three weeks of waiting for the check to arrive ) The peso check arrives just less that 2 weeks and clears less than 3 days. ( Just wondering why the peso check came from switzerland? )
And with regards to the post office thieves, I think whatever currency you have is not exempted to them unless they have a fake ID with your name on it for them to open an account or encash it with a fake ID (if that works). Again, since there is a note in the check "for payees account only" it will be hard for them to encash it or deposit to other account. Nice to know that there are many filipinos that participated in adsense.....mabuhay!

mmontala, what i was saying about the peso checks was
"it doesnt take long to clear, we dont have enough time to have google cancel it if it gets stolen since the would-be theif could encash it immediately."
as for the "for payees account only" anyone can have fake IDs made in Recto that will be used to open a 500 pesos account with smaller banks so they can encash it in a matter of days whereas with dollar checks, it would take a little longer so we still have enough time to report it to google. i hope you got my point here.

Why don't you set your mode of payment to secure delivery (DHL), its fast, and secure. You`ll just have to pay $24.
1:54 am on Nov 14, 2005 (gmt 0)
jcmiras was right, if you will be receiving more that $100 I think it is better to invest the $25 on secure delivery rather than loose all on crooks of this country. besides its faster.
3:20 am on Nov 14, 2005 (gmt 0)
hello mga kababayan, I depost my check on BDO. You only need $100 to open a $ Account so your adsense check is enough. I suggest that you have your adsense check delivered to you via DHL(secured delivery)because I had a check stolen from me way back in June 2005. So i opted for the secured delivery and i haven't had a problem since.

As a Filipino advertiser, you are eligible to receive checks in pesos. For a complete list of countries where local currency checks are available, please see:
Also, if you're interested in receiving checks by Secure Delivery, you might be interested in the following Google help page:
Hope that helps!

thank you for all your inputs guys. really appreciate it.
next time i will opt for secure delivery. and i think i will withold my payment until it reaches $300 so the $24 fee is worth it.
primeous, did you use you check to open the dollar account or did you open it using your own cash?
anyway, did any of you kababayans got your check for September already?
4:51 pm on Nov 15, 2005 (gmt 0)
I received my September check last Monday thru regular mail.
10:33 pm on Nov 15, 2005 (gmt 0)
Mine arrived yesterday thru regular mail also.
9:13 am on Dec 16, 2005 (gmt 0)
vbignacio, you got a point there on delaying the clearing if you opt for a dollar check. I've also watched imbestigador regarding the theft of some post men. But I think those SSS loan checks worth more than 20,000 pesos ( US$300+ : more than US$100+ ) can't easily be encashed. The loan checks were still on the postmen's closets.
We all have different opinions but I agree on opting for secure delivery in the future( maybe if I earn at least US$300 ) ;)

I would like also to remind you that you can be kicked out of the program anytime, and you might not be able to get your accumulated money once it happens.
10:52 am on Dec 16, 2005 (gmt 0)
Im with Adsense for the past 7 months receiving checks thru standard delivery (currency : PHP) and have not experienced any problem so far. Normally checks arrived every 2nd week of the following month.
