phpBB smilies

 11:10 pm on Sep 20, 2004 (gmt 0)

Hi everyone!
I'm using phpBB free forum on my web site.
I want to replace smilies with other gif or jpg images. People who enter my forum will then be able to insert that images in their threads.
Is it possible to do something like that?
If you have any ideas please let me know.

Yeah that is farily easily done. If you just want to replace the images find the folder and replace them with images named the same. If you want to add new images you just have to upload the files then find the file holding the listing of them. Duplicate the other lines to make your new ones changing the image name and so on.

[edit]Or do what Jatar_k says below if you want to take the easy way[/edit]

in the Admin Panel under 'General Admin' there is a management option for smilies. I am not sure if it is a mod or not.

If it isn't there in yours try searching for the mod in a se or go to the phpbb community site and see if it listed there.

Just pop over to the phpbb site, and you can download tons of extra smilies:

The admin panel has controls for everything - you just need to upload and install via the panel.
