Is Enhance PPC for real?

I keep on getting calls from Enhance to sign-up with their PPC company. They tell me that they are fourth in line behind:

Overture
Google
Findwhat
Enhance

I think they may have been formerly Ah-ha or something? Does anyone know if it's worth our time to sign up for their services?

Any thoughts on performance would be great. My only fear is that I wouldn't get enough clicks based on the amount of time I put into it...

It's Ah-ha. Never used em' probably never will. Have found that highly targeted campaigns on Overture with around a 5k spend translate into less than $100/month in available clicks on FindWhat sometimes.

The farther you dip down the less traffic there is and the more questionable the sources of it IMHO.

Despite LookSmart signing new partners for example, we've seen what was once a $50.00 cost per lead go to $300. I'd imagine many of the lower tier enignes are like this.

The only thing that gets enhanced is their pockets. Not many large advertisers are using them, and my bet is they'll be forced to do CPA-based pricing to stay in the game as their traffic is s__t.

REALITY CHECK #1 - Enhance has VERY questionable traffic, and is well-known in the search marketing community as delivering fairly low-quality traffic; low-quality is defined as traffic that does not convert well. A few anecdotes:
a) In a 6-month test, one agency got 4300 clicks, 0.00% conversion, and an average stay of 6.7 seconds.
b) One marketer said 40%+ of his Enhance traffic was from click-farms (servers built by Enhance affiliates to generate clicks)
c) A midwest retailer said "In 4 years of using PPCs and trying most of them: [Enhance] is a joke. The only PPCs with quality traffic are Google, Overture and to a lesser extent FindWhat."
d) A VP of Search at a top 5 online agency reported that they've stopped putting any money into Enhance due to low ROI.

REALITY CHECK #2 - Enhance claims more searches/month than they have. They claim one billion searches per month on their network, but all evidence points to a mere 150M-200M searches per month. Many tier two search engines exaggerate their traffic numbers by including the total searches across their distribution partners' websites, but the only number that counts is that number of times those distribution partners' search results *include* Enhance's results.

I will use again Enhance if it is the last one standing. My traffic with them is horrible.

Well then...I guess that is that...thanks for your responses. Enhance keeps on calling me off the hook. They must have a lot of money into cold-calling potential clients.

yet another reason why I hate all the clicks on Adwords to get my business contact info...argh! :)

Got the call. Sounded great. Looked great. Love the concept of adding a logo to the search results. Tried it out. The traffic stunk. Conversion at Google or Overture for me is LITERALLY 100 times better. I've tried many "second tier" PPC engines, and so far this is the worst.

Enhance is part of Marchex, a publicly traded company.

Usually my daily limit get over by 9.00 am Mountain Time, which makes me beleive lot of traffic may be coming from outside US.

7search also supliments their search result with Enhance search.

Wish Enhance & other PPC would let us fileter by Country or region where the Ads can be served.

No traffic, but Enhance converts as well as Google/Overture.

Their minimum spend is pretty stupid, however.

enhance used to deliver a small amount of good quality traffic.

now it delivers more traffic, but the quality is much lower (I blame content targeting networks / etc).

I recently dropped them.

I hate their traffic two. I can get 5 more ROI on any other PPC. Plus, it hurts when you feel you are being coned...

I had a bad experience as well and their traffic is questionable. If your looking too lose money then they are great. Otherwise the trafic you receive is nothing but robots clicking.
