Effectiveness of 2nd/3rd Tier PPC Search Engines

I understand this topic has been discussed in the past. However i would like to ask for more current feedback on the use of 2nd / 3rd tier PPC Search Engines such as Kanoodle, Findwhat, Enhance, Mamma, Ask Jeeves, etc.

We are thinking of expanding from Overture and Google. Please let me know what you think.

I was thinking perhaps with all these changes in the search engine industry, the 2nd / 3rd tier players are doing something different to distinguish themselves. Ask Jeeves, Mamma, and Kanoodle seem to have been in the news a lot over the past 2-3 weeks.

I really appreciate your help

Uses adwords ;) buy into the Google system, and you get there by default. A lot of the meta engines also use Google or Overture results.

So you've got perhaps 80-95% of the market cornered, imho. The rest of the names you mention - I'd say test, see what the ROI is, and then if it works for you, up the ante till you hit your desired CPA / CPO for the spend.

Solid, granular tracking tools are really the keys to determining where to spend your budget, imho.

we advertise thru google and overture, but we also do the same with findwhat and enhance. You can't compare them with google or overture, but they do bring a nice constant small amount of traffic for a very low price in comparison to G & O. The only thing about findwhat that I don't like is that it's difficult to update since the ads aren't displayed as in Overture, which makes it difficult to do this on your own. What I do now, is keep a excel sheet with all of our ads and if I need to update, I make the changes there and send it to our account manager. It does take a while to updates too...

... and I also recommend looking into networks that target your audience... we do this and business has been growing. Good Luck

I enjoy more traffic on Mamma since the March 1, news and celebrity buyin of Mark Cuban. My keyword is one of three ads on a top of the results page. I pay .23 per click and my conversions are higher than OVER.
P.s. Even my L$ listings get hit on Mamma. No complaints from me at all. It is all about eyeballs for me.
