I thought that the Espotting/Yahoo partnership had ended?
What's this then?

I could have sworn that Yahoo ended the Espotting contract ages ago, yet they are still showing Espotting ads:
[uk.dir.yahoo.com...]

And they announce the fact on the sign up page:
[uk.docs.yahoo.com...]

Did I miss this happening, or has it been there ever since the contract ended?

One theory I have is that Overture never used to allow ads to accompany directory listings; they had to appear for specific searches. Has Yahoo fallen foul of Overtures rules and been forced to use Espotting ads for the directory pages?

Espotting have also removed all mention of their partner sites during the revamp, so there is no mention of Yahoo on their site AFAIK.

Espotting had a deal to supply their results to Yahoo directory listings as part of the overall deal to supply their results to Yahoo web search listings .

Whilst the deal to supply web search results has ended, the directory deal is still in place.

They kept that one quiet. It is interesting that Yahoo continue to show adverts from Espotting; odd to pass money and brand to the competition.

Perhaps they have contracts in place that Yahoo can't get out of at the moment. I think the traffic to Yahoo directory listings is vastly lower than that to the Yahoo web search results any way.
