Internet marketing company FindWhat.com said Wednesday it reached an agreement with Espotting Media Inc. to delay by one month the date by which a merger of the two must be completed. FindWhat.com and British-based search engine Espotting have extended the date to Jan. 31, 2004, from Dec. 31, 2003. FindWhat.com also said it hopes to have a final decision on the status of the proposed merger in early 2004.

only one month....I am surprised they are still talking.

Assumed that FW were trying to do their own thing given their new IntelliMap feature.

"date by which a merger of the two must be completed" - do they mean the date by which the discussions must be completed? Surely they can't hope to have merged the companies in a month when they don't even have an agreement yet.

It sounds confused to me. Isn't this just Findwhat announcing that they are still in talks with Espotting and they expect it to take another month?

Espotting seem to have survived the loss of Yahoo remarkably well, so perhaps this will give Findwhat more confidence in the merger.

Good for them, I hope they succeed in the future.

If I were Espotting I would be jumping at this deal. But I don't think it is going to happen smoothly.....So I guess I'll add $200 to yours, ncw164x, on the bar in Florida ;)

The chickenburger breakfast was a help... but then I fell asleep on the train and ended up in Bedford... Only to catch the first train back again.

OK - I know I'll never see a drink from that money - but I bet my bar bill beats $200. The trick is trying to get the tab on the business, which may be hard as my business partner's wife does the expenses.

Happy new year BTW.
