Looksmart Opinions
looksmart delivers small traffic totals

Looksmart claims to reach 77% of all Net audiences.

We come up in the top 10 of most search engines for our terms, and get over 100 hits/day from GG, Yahoo, etc. We get over 100 hits/day from every major ppc, and usually 10+ from even the smallest of ppcs.

We are averaging 2.8 clicks a day from Looksmart.

These numbers don't seem to make sense. Has anyone else seen this type of problem?

Is there a good way to use looksmart other than just listing off a url and some keywords/description for it?

Thanks.

Looksmart claims to reach 77% of all Net audiences.

I can claim the same thing....doesn't make it true.

L$'s only real use, imo, is as an entrance into MSN.

Yup, MSN is the big reason for LS.

To get the most out of it it's important to check your keywords in MSN to evaluate what comes up then base a decision to proceed or not according to the results relative to what your competition is or isn't doing, as well as taking Ink into the consideration.

There are many circumstances in which a well optimized LS listing can trump your competition and pay off with decent traffic.

Take care not to muddy up your Ink listings though, as LS data gets fed into Ink, essentially ruining your Ink investment.

I've found that certain industries tend to do well in MSN. Since I manage a few industrial sites, I can say that those do very well with MSN. Then I have a couple of sites that are in the same boat as yours eWhisper. They do very well with Yahoo! and Google traffic but not that well with MSN even though they rank top ten for their targeted phrases.
