Do you think this idea is worth persuing? Lets say there are thousands of sites that sell some type of widget (widget frames, widget jewelry etc). I have the domain widget.com If my widget.com site is ranking higher for key phrases. Do you think these other sites would be willing to pay $5.00 a month to place their link on widget.com? Your opinions will be appreciated.

This is not uncommon for those with the big G in mind, but it's not so much on a higher ranking page, rather one with higher PR.
