Hyperlink problem in Mozilla
works fine in IE?

Using this code in IE everthing appears as expected:-

a:link { color:#ffffff; text-decoration:none}
a:visited { color:#ffffff; text-decoration:none}
a:hover { color:#80B3FF; text-decoration:none}
a:active { color:#80B3FF; text-decoration:none}

When I try viewing it in Mozilla/Netscape (are they different browsers or in effect identical?) then I see hyperlinks in different colors which then change once they have been visited.

Is there anything wrong with the (very simple) syntax?

Thanks

Hi JonnyWales

testing on ie6 and moz 1.3 i dont see any diff. in the color or link behavior. Do you maybe have other rules in your css that maybe interfering?

are Mozilla/Netscape different browsers or in effect identical?

The short version is that they react (almost) identical in the newest version beacuse they are both using the Gecko-engine, the codebase or the algorithm of the browser. Check the versionnr in help/about in the browser an you will see Gecko ver. nr.

Maybe sombody could point to a more elaborate explanation of why this is so?

The only difference I cannot resolve between IE and Mozilla/Netscape is cell borders. I want to see black bordes around some cells and they appear fine in IE but not Mozilla/Netscape, where instead no border is shown at all.

Very puzzled?

Hi

Sounds puzzling - could you give us a code chunk were this is the case?

I assume we are talking table-cells?
