| Open link in middle box

Hi I'm new to CSS and trying to make a menu to the left and have it in place. I want the links in the menu to open in the 'middle box' without reloading the whole page (just like a frameset) but I can't make it happen. Does anyone have any suggestions how to do it? Thanks

.. or use an IFRAME There are other options, if we're not talking about too many pages, and if they are not too long. But, that would require using absolutely positioned DIVs, and hide/unhide them when a link is clicked.
