My name is Nick_W I've been off tables for almost 2yrs now...
My name is pageoneresults and I've not used deprecated markup in over two (02) years. I still use tables where applicable; for tabular data.
Hello, My name is Suzy and I've been off tables for what seems like ever.
Although my clients sometimes force me to indulge again. It is not pleasant when this occurs but serves as a painful reminder that they are there tempting me in everyday life.
fortunately my new addiction (CSS) enables me to cope with tables as well so a compromise is easily reached in most cases and I can return to my "safe" world with the help of this forum.
I am TheDoctor, and I have been fully converted to CSS since August. It took me nearly a year, working evenings and weekends, but it feels goood. I can now do things on my site for the most modern browsers that I thought were impossible, and I can let users of old browsers have a stripped-down version of the site. It also works for IE.
Thanks to all those on Webmaster World who helped!

My name is TrillianJedi and I have been off tables for 3 months (thanks in no small part to Nick_W's excellent CSS tutorials).
I get stronger and stronger each day, and I am a happier person.
I am, however, a foo-aholic.
Hello my name is Reflection I have been off tables for over a year now.
Oh and I have never in my life(well the 3 or 4 years since I got into web design anyway) used a font tag :)
Sounds like the A A meeting where you have to confess?
My name is ncw164x and I have no intention of giving up using tables, I do use css for the removal of font tags but that is where it ends.
I have yet switch away from Tables yet :P I haven't had the time to learn something new, I will learn though I promise, need to stay on top of things.
I did however get rid of my frame use ;)
hello my name is located to the left and I just heard there were donuts at this meeting. ;)
I have lot's of addictions I have gotten rid of:
Tables, every now and again I like to crack open a can of 'table' and place it inside my css laid out page. One step at a time and the addiction will fade. Though I love an injection of table for tabular data.
My name is WillyB. I thought I had a handle on this problem. Then I spent some time with my old friend Nav4. I never realized how fast one can fall back again.
It really wasn't my fault! Someone else made me talk to Nav4 again :(
I'm here to tell you, if you're gonna change your life, you gotta' make new friends.

...also coffee, sugar cookies, and all the second hand smoke you can breathe;)

My name’s Rich
I sorta get the idea but it’s a pain in the arse, let’s face tables do what they do and then I can always use css as a hack when I need it, but I am trying, bloody SuzyUk made me.
Hehe she’s going to be responsible for the debugging of my site, which hasn’t been update for 15 months…. And there are many many things that she is responsible for. Nutscrape forget it, it’s dead, and Mozilla, yuk terrible rendering. Opera, that’s the 1 does everything it says on the tin.
I would switch but the only layout holding me back is a multiple column layout where all columns are the same height (the shorter columns extend down to the length of the longest). I don't believe this can be done with CSS, can it?
I use this layout too frequently to switch from tables.
im Dan and ive been off tables for two weeks!
I'm DrDoc, and I have never been off tables.
However, I've been off deprecated tags, and tag misuse for about 2 yrs
My name is Craig_F and this is my first meeting...
( right here you all are supposed to say "Hi Craig!" )
...and my first day off tables.
Hi. My name is Oliver and I freed myself from layout tables as soon as ALA #99 came out.
I guess that's what gurus like to hear: I saw the light, and this changed my life forever. Many have followed us, it's not a question if, but when you will too. :-)
"Nutscrape" hahahaha! I'm using that from now on.. Thanks.
Ciao, mi chiamo Giacomo! Non uso codice inutile di HTML, ma desidero di usare sempre le tavoli se necessario, con dati tabulari. CSS per vita!
Arrivederci compagni ;)
my name's Jim and i am coming off tables right now...
(so expect me to bug the hell out of you all!)
Hi my name is Seth and I learned how to program web pages beginning with CSS :)
I have never made a table-based layout in my life... in fact, the rare instances I do use tables, I always have to look something up =p
Hi, My name is Adam and my addiction began only a few months ago. My pusher (Dreamweaver) laid out my first sites in tables. Through the help of webmaster world, I've found that using css, though more difficult, is a much better high.
I eliminated my table usage a couple of weeks ago, but must admit that I'm steadily increasing the file size of my css injections.
My name is Victor.
I've cut out all my self-destructive usage of t****s for page layout.
I still use them for tabular data, but I can handle it.
Though sometimes I get confused. Are the boxes you are reading this in best as a big table because it is tabular data or what?
imo victor, yes. Tables are better for these forums. A dash of css over the top wouldn't go astray
Hi, my name's Mike. I made my first two websites this time last year... and layed them out with tables (sob sob, tears of regret). I then discovered Zeldman and alistapart and have been learning css ever since.
My name's Elisabeth and I haven't made any pages with tables for several months, and there are no font tags anywhere in my empire, I don't think.
However, I have some old pages with table-based layouts that I'm feeling guilty about.
Errr, my name is......... Tadeo....... and . Errrm..........
I just couldn't face a cold turkey, I'm sorry.....
I'm weening myself slowly...... and I'm being 'quite' good.
I'm just getting to the 'forget nutscrape' (I like that too!) stage.
I think I can handle the total layout bit, it's just forgetting those 2 or 3 old pals who still get off on old browsers. (I have a whole bunch of new friends, but the old ones keep coming around)
Thanks to Nick and the rest of you kind people for helping me through this thing.
Can I get some cookies now¿
My name is Webwork. I am in the pain of attempting withdrawl from tables. I want to know. I want to know. I don't know. I don't know. It's scary. I don't have the time. Do I have to? I'm just an old dog, leave me alone, no new tricks, okay? It's so confusing. How do I get a website to work in all those browsers with all those bugs. OKAY. I've NEVER hand coded. I'm a Wussy-Wig guy. (Yes, wussy.) I'm so afraid. Tremble. Tremble. Whimper. Sniff. OHHHH, aaarrrggghhhh, the pain, the pain. The horror, the horror.
Help me. It's so dark in here.......
That just about sizes up where I'm at with CSS. I've read and read and read, but "touch it and play with it"? Noooooo. That's scary and I can't get over it.
My name is Heather. I like tables. And I'm ok with that.
