We've got a medium sized sort of business that could put, say, $600 at analytics if we thought it was worth it, but we're not quite convinced it's necessary with so much free stuff hanging around.
What we're thinking of doing is
i) Put all our ads (yahoo, miva etc) on Adwords Cross Channel conversion for conversion stats ii) Put our Adwords ads through Analytics to get a funnel vision (extrapolating the behavior of other visitors from these stats).
The idea is not to put everything through Analytics for performance reasons: we need a sample to work out what's going on, but don't want to slow down the whole site unnecessarily.
Does this seem like an OK strategy or does anyone have a more intelligent way of getting quality stats on the cheap...?
