HooRay,

Just passed the test. Got my account setup. 90 days to the shiny google badge.

Sure it was a little buggy. Spelling (try conversions not conversations e.g.) 2 answers that are the exact same

overall moving in the right direction though

What if I've already had a MMC login? Can I use the existing login or should I create a new one in order to be enrolled in this program?

You can use your existing MCC logins.

If you create a new one, and try to move advertisers to your new MCC, you'll get the 'this advertiser is assigned to another agency' error, and have to manually move everything.

Sukhinder, GoogleGuy, and AWA all commenting positively on the topic. Rich and comprehensive educational content and tutorials. Time and budget based checks and balances. The public recognition that there is expert level management of ADwords accounts (therefore complexities and performance variance). A certification when the market will double in two years. Good stuff.

It is clear that the agency is becoming an important part of the sales process for G. Prior to today's moves we have recently seen a new agency inteface view, account rep support, google reaching out for payment terms, and jumpstart like agency set-up support.

Last week it was Google opening up for the first time to a major telco in Bell South to diversify sales channels, now we are seeing this, and surely there is more custom deals and agency oriented incentive, integration, and "view' changes to come.

It is fine to talk about problems with certain answers but in this case the gesture to our community in and of itself is significant and extremely positive.

We appreciate the outreach and look forward to providing feedback to you and growing sales with you.

eWhisper, you are really on the job today! I was told that you've been sending feedack all day - and that you are the clear Feedback King so far!

But, uhhhm, isn't it sort of late where you are now?

And Chicago - thanks for the very kind words, which are much appreciated!

And judging by your nic, probably pretty late there too, no?

Lastly, thanks to all for the feedback here - and congrats to those 'pioneers' who have already taken and passed the test.

Nice!

AWA,

When I saw you post at 8:30 your time, I thought you were putting in a late night at the office (or is that a late night due to coming in late after your adventurous evening) due to all the changes going on...

The next questions are:
Will there be anything that 'professionals' have access to that others won't besides a logo?

And, will the MCC be updated to allow custom date ranges and/or 'trial/on hold' keyword type reports across all accounts?

Running reports across all of our clients for problem areas would be a huge boon.

Remember the letter we got saying that we had to remove the google logo from our site? Remember taking the steps to politely and appropriately apply for logo usage and being turned down? Remember how, thru it all, we just continued to sell Google? And wondered when it all would change..

It has officially changed right? I mean officially 'started' to change, right?

Anyone else having problems viewing reports when using My Client Manager (MCM)?

I'm unable to display reports for any client accounts. Keep getting error messages as follows:
======================
We apologise for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process your request at this time. Our engineers have been notified of this problem and will work to resolve it. Please note that using your browser's back button in AdWords can increase the likelihood of errors. If you think this was the cause of your error, please try again without using the back button.
======================
However if I log in directly to the client accounts I have (rather than via MCM) I can run reports. The hassle is I can't do this with campaigns in my own account which I used when I set up the MCM.

Anyone else having this issue?

It's buggy at the moment. I logged in as a client at the https://adwords.google.com/select/ProfessionalWelcome link and mistakenly signed them up as a professional.

So I went back and logged into MY google account, made myself a professional and was unable to add my client (because they were already a professional).

I logged into as my client, read the faq on how to delete an account from the pro listing and deleted my client from their own pro listing. Logged back on MY account and still couldn't add them. Logged back on THEIR account, and now all their information is missing. Can't update bids, can't see ANY reports -- nothing! Just the pro tabs are all that's there. I tried adding my client to their own pro account and get an error you can't add yourself (yet it let me delete myself).

Very frustrated -- not looking forward to explaining this one to the client that all their google information is gone.

So I went back and logged into MY google account, made myself a professional and was unable to add my client (because they were already a professional).

This is an interesting point that I'd like clarified. Currently, I have a professional account. My analysts also have MCC accounts which are linked to my account (I don't have to log out to get to any client's info, but they can only view their own clients).

If they become professionals, does that mean that these accounts still can't be linked under one master account?

I actived my MCC account. However, when I made my MCC account, I made an account with 0 info in it, and then talked to my rep to make it a MCC account.

On the sign up page: https://adwords.google.com/select/ProfessionalWelcome?
No AdWords account? Create one through the sign-up wizard. Then return here to join the program.

I took that to mean you could make an empty shell account, and then return to the signup page and make your shell account a professional account.

Have you tried making a brand new account, which must have one campaign/adgroup (which you can pause), but you don't have to put in any financial info. Activating that account (valid email address required), and then once activated, return to the professional page and turn it into a professional account?

We can't even phone Google in the Netherlands, even though I have the number. They simply refuse to answer. "Email only."

>Have you tried making a brand new account

Yes, but it doesn't activate without financial data and payment of startup cost. OK , that's not too much but it's annoying.

Maybe they should have made everyone read that first before giving people quick MCC access.

Still not understanding.

Still getting error messages.

I have a client that I would like to have them have access with their own password BUT getting invalid address errors.

Not sure how this works.

I'm feeling inept today...

I-e-mailed google and asked them to call.

Whew! Just getting here to post for the first time today.

Here are brief comments on some of the posts in this thread, to start.

Well, yes - though I do want to add a note of clarification.

Those who have qualify as a Google Advertising Professional will be given a particular Google logo to use on their site and in their marketing (if you choose to do so). This logo is shown here:

https://adwords.google.com/support/select/professionals/bin/answer.py?answer=12256&hl=en_US

On this same page you will find a link to the 'requirements', and also the 'Rules of Use'.

So, bottom line, it is this particular logo that will be available for use, as outlined in the 'Rules'.

Here's a glitch: The introductory material says the time limit for the exam is two hours, but once you're in to register it says the time limit is one hour thirty minutes. Fix one or the other!

Excellent catch, buckworks - and fix in progress. Congrats on passing the test!

Haven't been able to duplicate this in a brief test. I wonder if the 'AWA miracle cure' might do the job for you? (You know: Reboot, fresh browser, fresh login page - not bookmarked login page.)

OK, this is getting sort of long. Will post this much now, and then return in a bit.

OK, not sure that I got all of that, and will have to consult further to sort it out. But at the bottom line, your clients data will still be in the database - so rest easy there.

I think what has occurred in the process you've detailed above, is that you've 'renamed' your client's login email address. Lets say your client's email was sales@domain.com - it is probably now 'renamed' to sales+client@domain.com. The 'fix' then, would be to add sales+client@domain.com to your
MCM center, instead of sales@domain.com.

Also, I'm not sure if this was a factor, and I'd guess probably not - but just to say it: one should not use the enrollment box to login. Instead, only use the homepage login box to login. (The enrollment login box is for enrollment of the manager only.)

I'll continue to look into this one, but it might be a good idea to contact AdWords support directly.
