p.s. we just use the normal Tech Support number and they have always been great with us. Patient, helpful. We don't spend 10k per month. Our spending even dropped to only 1k per month (we tried magazine advertising) and they were just a great as ever.
I'm not sure if others can vouch for this, but in the past, when I called 866-2GOOGLE & entered my account number, I got a "standard" CSR. Just recently, my spending exceeded $10k/mo. and I received an e-mail stating:
Thank you for advertising with the Google AdWords program. As a special thank you, we are pleased to offer you an enhanced level of customer support for being one of our top AdWords advertisers.
You can now call our customer support team toll-free for a quicker response to questions about your account or the AdWords program in general.
Essentially what this says to me is that "now, 'feel free' to call us because you're an important customer. Everyone us calls us anyways, but thought this e-mail would make you feel special.
When I call up now & enter my account number, I get transferred to what must be a dedicated account rep, since he was on vacation the last time I called.
