I've noticed that Aol Search is now showing 4 sponsored links(Adwords) at the top and 4 sponsored links on the bottom of the first page.

Maybe they got some stats that told them people arnt going past the 1st page anymore so if they want to make more money they gotta stick it all on the first page :P

I checked our logs and we see a sharp increase in AOL traffic here in the last week or so. Anyone else noticed this?

I have generally found, in studies of users, that many users will scroll all the way to the bottom of a page, and then back up again, even if something at the top catches their eye. Therefore, ads at the bottom, which drag the user in, could well be picking up many extra eyeballs.

This should reduce AOL's losses by a couple of hundred million dollars.
