|Google "Performance Testing" Ad|
What is the purpose of this strange ad?
| 12:44 am on Sep 16, 2003 (gmt 0)|
I conducted a search for "testing" on Google and I saw a funny adwords ad that looked like:
Please help us out by following
this link. You can come right back.
I tried it out later and I got:
Please ignore this link.
The link goes right to Google's home page. Anyway, the ad switches back and fourth with a few reloads and I was just wondering if anybody had an idea what the reason for the ad might be.

That is strange. It is also the only ad served up. Is it possible that this is a reserved adword? Does Google do that?
Is it an 'ing" thing. Other "ing" phrases only showing one result running, biking, fishing .....
But other "ing" with multiple results shopping, boating ....
