I don't see any update at all, maybe your toolbar is messing with you. :)

to get a PR 7 ,theorically, you should be linked from (at least) a PR 8 page with only an outbound link to you. Considering how that's unprobable, and the fact that PR increases with logarithmic (or similar)criteria, your result have to be considered unreliable.Try the Google toolbar;it will surely return to you a different result.

Stuart...I'm seeing updates with my firefox toolbar but not with the internet explorer download. It looks like they are in the middle of an update. Some of their data centers show an increase in page rank while others are still showing the old results. Do you see the same thing?

Yep, somethings changing. Google has finally realized my non-www is the same as the www on some sites and PR is reflecting this on some dcs Hopefully things will start improving for me now. & often after a PR update there is a deep crawl (In my experience) Come on Googlebot Lets be Havin' Ya. (C) Delia Smith - Come on Norwich :)

The funny stuff is that although google often crawls my site I have very few pages indexed.... On the other hand Yahoo and MSN have hundreds of my pages indexed.

That's great Art. Just think how much further ahead of the game you'll be when you get out of the sandbox :)

A blog I started writing this year, has gone from PR 0 to 5! It is hosted on blogger, which I thought maybe has something to do with it.

Yea I have a blog hosted by blogger and just moved to a PR 4. I have another blog hosted there (was started first) that has a PR 0. I think freshness of content and quality of outbound links are playing a role in this one.
