Hmm. Just now when I started my browser, it downloaded and installed the newest version without asking - 2.0.95. I haven't found any differences yet.

| Country Search: Restrict your search to pages located in a specific country |
| I wonder how this feature works. I am presuming that it looks at the IP of the website and sees where it is hosted. Will need to test this out - because if that were to catch on it could affect a lot of websites around the world with some people preferring perhaps to deal with sites in their own country rather than external sites. (last bit added in)

For 16 languages it still says '[BETA]', and the new functions have the text 'currently only available for English' on the page mentioned in message 1. <added> I installed the new version in Japanese, recieved version '1.1.62-deleon/ja' (doesn't loke like 2.0 to me!) and yes the pop-up blocker didn't work. So I just reinstalled the English version. </added>

That is not related to the new toolbar. Just a new Google function. Google calculator - Following AlltheWeb but with less units in conversion [webmasterworld.com]

Calc function seems very nice, but I've a question: ¿Somebody will use it when they have a better one in the accesories program group? I prefer too much Windows Calc than opening a new IExplorer window or going out of the page i'm currently visiting. Wincalc is faster and better. What use is supposed to have this new function? Regards, Herenvardö

Can anyone think of a reason why someone would want to keep an older version? ie. for SEO reasons.

Don't see a difference to the previous toolbar version. I still get this disturbing error message when i try to download and install the latest version of this magic little thingy everybody talks about since years. Hmmmmm ... Your operating system does not appear to meet these requirements. Your system information was reported as: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/85 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/85 Because your system does not appear to meet the system requirements for the Google Toolbar, installation has been cancelled. |
| Have to wait for version 3, then ... ;)

i see a difference - but just bugs fixed. in the beta version, when I changed the settings in one window, it would reset the other windows to the default settings. very annoying. Glad it's fixed!

I hadn't realized there had been an update -- it must have auto-installed. I wonder if this is why my AutoComplete fields all got wiped out a few days ago.

Avagadro's number - hee hee (Mole) But why is the PR indicator still up-the-creek? It even shows PR 0 (which I presume means in the index but of low worth or not yet assigned a PR) for password-protected pages which Googlebot could not possibly have seen.

Nice name, Mole :) As far as I know, PR0 now means unindexed, no PR yet, or PR0. I haven't seen a gray bar in quite a while. A site of mine went from PR3 to PR4 in the last week or so, so I think it's working, but maybe still not caught up.

[toolbar.google.com...] How can I learn when a new version is available? The Google Toolbar automatically updates itself when a new version is available. This may not happen immediately, but it will eventually. If you learn that there's a new version out and you've just got to have it, you can reinstall the toolbar to make sure you're driving the latest model. (You may need to uninstall first, though this shouldn't normally be necessary.) I have the beta version but I assume it updated itself to the new 2.0 version from what it says on its toolbar help page.

Mine was just updated. A new icon appeared (the options button) and when I clicked on it the pop-up said I had a new toolbar installed. Is the notification a new feature? If it is I guess they heard you.:) From what I hear that will be the last pop-up I see in awhile.:)
