Hey, anyone else notice the new Google News options? Google News is now in the main menu, the search menu (option on the combined search button), and there's also a newspaper icon that goes there.

Yeah that Google news icon confused me totally, I thought I was just going mad through tiredness, so came here as a kind of sanity check. Thanks for confirming my sanity guys! :)

Once updated you will see the Google Newspaper Icon as I do. If you goto the Google Menu and choose 'Toolbar options' there is a feature under the experimental link on the options page called 'Suppress the onUnload JavaScript event' -- not quite sure what version this showed up in but the first i've seen it. It will unload java events so popups wont occur when closing/leaving a site. :D

the update works like a charm for me. some errors were reported on the new version already, you can find more info in this thread [webmasterworld.com]. the toolbar does not refresh on certain pages. this is good to know not to think your own pages have pr8 suddenly... ;)

It just occured to me that the carrying the PR from the last site glitch started about when the newspaper appeared. I wonder if they changed several things. I've actually been trying to get the tool bar to carry a PR10 over to my site just for the fun of doing a print screen and saving it. No luck when I want it to happen though. Anne
