Question about Questions
Are question marks indexed?

OK, first of all, I'm not talking about dynamically generated pages or question markes in the URL...

What I am trying to figure out is if question marks in the text of a web page are indexed. What brings this up is the fact that a lot of people use question marks in their searches. They phrase their search as a question...

Will putting a question mark in your keyword phrases pick up SERPs for queries like these?

I think the only difference in searches with a? is that Google directs to answers.google.com.

Google does not index question marks.

Test: define a question (e.g.: what do we eat today?)

Search Google for the phrase with and without the question mark.
You'll notice that the results will be the same and the "?" wil not be highlighted.

You can try other engines the same way.
