Been searching a few terms at Goto and decided to put in "Search Engine" for a lark. Did you know that:- 38000+ people went to Goto and searched for "Google Search Engine"
21000+ searched for "Alta Vista Search Engine" and "Yahoo Search Engine" and
10000+ searched for "Lycos Search Engine" and "Excite Search Engine"? And if you want something really really really weird, try putting in "submit". Hmmmm... Onya

I've been seeing more and more inaccurate results like this. According to Tim Cadogan, from GoTo, the search tool is including search data from partner sites, but that still wouldn't account for such high numbers. I would think that the WP skew would have to be playing a huge role in coming up with such huge search numbers.
